A nice article came up on thrillophilia.com ( PDF version ) with 50 places to visit in India – in “less travelled” places. I am half the way down the list and got good new ideas for next year trips (in bold)!! 1.      Camping in The Arid Desert of Rajasthan 2.      Eat at Chokhi Dhani and Take an Elephant Safari in Jaipur...

The Delhi monkeys

This story has nothing to do with real facts. Any resemblance to persons having existed was fortuitous.   Imagine a dozen Indians, who left their native land the time of a weekend in the French Alps. Past the first fears (such as missing a flight connection), the first culinary disappointment (not only French food has no taste but above all there is only red meat),...

And on the last to Mumbai, Uttarakhand, Pondicherry and Matheran.   And here go my father about his experience – he also inaugurates the category “comments of visitors”:   I also updated my photoblog...

Travelling with an Indian, part 2…

(cf http://www.indiandacoit.com/archive/2011/06/03/travelling-with-an-indian-is-a-great-experience.html )   The day before departure, whereas the trip program is well tied up – and he was in copy of all the emails related to the organization – I get a call of him saying: “we should go there, and there, and there. Check it out!” I keep my cool, we will do things my way...

Travelling with an Indian is a great experience!!

Note: the following remarks come from personal experiences and exchanges and if it is very general, I think that it is quite true. One can certainly say also a lot on the French who travel…   First: choosing the destination. The Indian is not an explorer at heart and will prefer to avoid the unknown regions – so if parents, friends went there (or better even better live...

Comments from an Indian traveller...

I recently met an Indian doctor who had traveled to Europe… He had to shorten his stay in Paris and Dublin because it was to unbearable!!   His most traumatizing experience? A woman skeeping the queue!! (Kind of ironic coming from an Indian…)   Like everyone, he told me that “French people are horrible because they know English and they refuse to speak”. I...
