<p align="justify">Parmi les séries mettant en scène des Vampires, je n’avais encore jamais regardé sérieusement <em><strong><span style="color: #ffc000;">MOONLIGHT</span></strong></em>, à part quelques scènes lors de sa diffusion tardive sur TF1. (le pitch de la série) :</strong></em></span> Mick St-John, un vampire devenu détective privé, tente de concilier sa nature immortelle, l'adversité qui règne dans le monde des vampires et son amour pour une mortelle, la belle Beth Turner, qu’il a sauvée enfant : se servant de ses pouvoirs pour aider les humains, plutôt que pour s'en nourrir, Mick, mordu le jour de ses noces par sa femme Coraline, entretient une profonde antipathie pour ceux qui ne voient dans les mortels que nourriture. (<em>source : <strong>Allocine.com</strong></em>)</span></span></p><p align="justify"><span style="font-family: 'Trebuchet MS';"><span style="font-size: small;"><span style="text-decoration: underline;"><em><strong>Les raisons de se laisser mordre par la série… ou pas ! ('mon avis sur la série) :</strong></em></span> Les premiers épisodes ne me laissaient pas grand espoir pour cette série. Car il faut bien l’avouer, si <em><strong><span style="color: #ffc000;">MOONLIGHT</span></strong></em> va se laisser regarder sans déplaisir, elle reprend des éléments très classiques vu déjà ailleurs. Son but n’est absolument pas de révolutionner quoi que ce soit, c’est juste au départ une série distrayante produite par Joel Silver. Mais détaillons de quoi il en retourne plus précisément : <em><strong><span style="color: #ffc000;">MOONLIGHT</span></strong></em> reprend deux éléments traditionnels dans une série : les enquêtes policières mettant en scène le criminel de la semaine, et le concept de “la Belle et la Bête” : associer un couple de personnages, un homme et une femme, avec une certaine tension entre les 2, dont on voudrait bien qu’ils tombent amoureux l’un de l’autre, mais une ‘difformité’, un secret, empêche dans un premier temps cela. Avec les étapes attendues et obligées de ce type d’histoires : les 2 personnages se rencontrent, l’un commence à enquêter sur l’autre, découvre son secret, puis l’accepte. Les séries à destination en 1<sup>er</sup> lieu des ados de la CW ou autre (on peut citer <em><strong><span style="color: #ff0000;">The Vampire Diaries</span></strong></em>, <em><strong>Smallville</strong></em>, <em><strong>TEEN WOLF</strong></em>… ) se feront une spécialité de cela. Pour le côté “enquête”, Mick St-John aura à tenter d’arrêter des Vampires qui sont de véritables psychopathes commettant meurtre sur meurtre, et donc quelqu’un se doit de les arrêter. Qu’est-ce qui donne au détective privé une conscience, peut-être ses origines, mais c’est peu… Car Mick St-John est devenu Vampire contre sa volonté, trompé par sa femme qui était une Vampire, ce qu’il n’avait jamais soupçonné auparavant (<em>!!! On a beau dire que l’amour est aveugle, c’est quand même un peu fort, là</em>). A ses côtés, donc, on a Beth Turner, une séduisante journaliste de terrain blonde, que Mick St-John connaît déjà. Et pour cause, car si elle ne se souvient pas de lui, il lui a sauvé la vie alors qu’elle était enfant, et il a toujours essayé de garder un oeil sur elle pour la protéger. Donc, on a une série qui, et quand elle fut diffusé, la remarque se faisait déjà, fait penser très fort au tout début de la série <em><strong><span style="color: #ff0000;">Angel</span></strong></em> (on avait le même schéma d’un Angel détective privé ayant fait la connaissance et aidant l’Inspectrice Kate Lockley, interprétée par Elizabeth Röhm, qui ressemble d’ailleurs un peu physiquement à Sophia Myles, l’interprète de Beth Turner), mais aussi à <em><strong><span style="color: #ff0000;">Highlander</span></strong></em>, série mettant également en scène des Immortels, de par sa construction des épisodes qui aboutissent à un combat final, mais également son jeu de flash-backs nous plongeant dans le passé du personnage principal. La série est donc à mi-chemin entre le drama policier et le drama romantique, où l’on tourne autour du pot entre deux partenaires de sexe opposé, en attendant qu’ils tombent dans les bras l’un de l’autre. La série <em><strong><span style="color: #ff0000;">CASTLE</span></strong></em> utilisera les mêmes ingrédients bien plus tard.</span></span></p><p style="text-align: center;"><img id="media-3693243" style="margin: 0.7em 0;" title="" src="http://seriesverseofknight.hautetfort.com/media/00/02/3170159306.jpg" alt="moonlight,mick st-john,beth turner,alex o'loughlin,sophia myles,jason dohrin,josef kostant,claudia black,kevin weisman,vampires,fantastique,policier,histoire des séries américaines" /></p><p align="justify"><span style="font-family: 'Trebuchet MS';"><span style="font-size: small;"><span style="text-decoration: underline;"><em><strong>Les variations du mythe :</strong></em></span> Afin de nous présenter le héros et l’univers des Vampires dans la série, la narration se fait dans un premier temps en voix-off. Là encore, rien d’original avec l’utilisation de ce procédé qui retombe dans les bons vieux travers. A savoir qu’être Immortel, avoir des Super-pouvoirs, cela peut être cool, mais le héros semble penser que non, et va nous expliquer pourquoi avec des monologues plombant l’ambiance et limite dépressifs. Ainsi, si les trucs habituels contre les Vampires ne fonctionnent pas, croix, ail, soleil (Mick St-John peut enquêter au grand jour avec lunettes de soleil), le pieu dans le coeur les paralyse (sans les anéantir pour autant comme dans <em><strong><span style="color: #ff0000;">Buffy</span></strong></em> ou <em><strong><span style="color: #ff0000;">The Vampire Diaries</span></strong></em>), et le feu reste particulièrement efficace contre eux, seul véritable moyen de les faire disparaître. Si Mick St-John ne dort pas dans un cercueil, il dort… dans un frigo (<em>!!! j’avoue, celle-ci, impossible de s’y attendre</em>) et se nourrit de sang à l’aide de seringues. Par un saisissant contraste, la série mettra un autre Vampire en scène, Josef, plus âgé que Mick mais à l’apparence plus jeune, qui embrasse pour sa part sa condition de Vampire à pleines dents, offrant un contre-point à Mick St-John, n’hésitant pas profiter de son état. Les deux Vampires ne semblent pas particulièrement amis (il n’y a pas de débordement de marques d’affection de leur part), mais se dirigent l’un vers l’autre quand ils ont besoin d’aide, et tous deux s’entraident dès que cela est possible. Probablement que chacun des deux ‘répugne’ l’autre et ne comprend pas ses manières de vivre, ce qui est un frein à leur “relation”. Une relation un peu semblable à celle de Lestat et Louis dans <em><strong><span style="color: #ff0000;">Entretien avec un Vampire</span></strong></em>, dans des proportions moindres, où l’un jouissait de son statut, tandis que l’autre le vivait comme une malédiction. Dans l’univers de la série, le grand public ignore l’existence des Vampires et doit continuer à l’ignorer. C’est pourquoi on découvrira que le petit monde de ces êtres de la nuit dispose de Nettoyeuses, censées effacer toute trace d’activité vampirique. Celles-ci ont plus ou moins un look de dominatrices, recouvertes d’une combinaison de cuir des pieds à la tête. Concernant le mythe du Vampire, on a droit ici à une vision très romantique du mythe ; on s'intéresse davantage aux conséquences sur les relations entre Humains et Vampires, qui rendent les relations sentimentales... compliquées, sur le Vampirisme vécu comme une malédiction, sur les pouvoirs que cela donne. On s'attarde peu sur la consommation de sang humain, on voit finalement très peu de sang dans la série, comme d'ailleurs dans d'autres mettant en scène des Vampires.</span></span></p><p style="text-align: center;"><img id="media-3693247" style="margin: 0.7em 0;" title="" src="http://seriesverseofknight.hautetfort.com/media/02/02/2174018426.jpg" alt="moonlight,mick st-john,beth turner,alex o'loughlin,sophia myles,jason dohrin,josef kostant,claudia black,kevin weisman,vampires,fantastique,policier,histoire des séries américaines" /></p><p align="justify"><span style="font-family: 'Trebuchet MS';"><span style="font-size: small;"><strong><em><span style="text-decoration: underline;">L’évolution de la série :</span></em></strong> Il faut bien le dire, les premiers épisodes sont loin d’être enthousiasmants. Les 4 ou 5 premiers épisodes sont poussifs, et présentent des intrigues policières très prévisibles. Mais la série s’améliore quelque peu ensuite : Josef apparaît davantage, les épisodes laissent moins la place aux intrigues sans surprises des débuts, pour laIsser plus de place au feuilletonnant concernant le retour d’un ancien personnage, on se plaît de plus en plus à voir tourner Beth et Mick autour du pot… Sans compter la relation entre Beth et Mick, tous deux attachants (<em>même si en terme de ‘ship’, j’ai préféré bien d’autres couples dans le monde des séries</em>). Du coup, on a un divertissement qui se laisse regarder, mais loin d’être indispensable pour autant. Ce qui est normal, il faut parfois une dizaine d’épisodes pour une série américaine afin qu’elle trouve son identité ou s’améliore. Finalement, on a mine de rien avec <em><strong><span style="color: #ffc000;">MOONLIGHT</span></strong></em> une série quelque peu réminiscente de celles produites dans les années 90, qui mixaient souvent plusieurs éléments divers pour séduire un large public (<em>??</em>). Au sortir des 16 épisodes, on se dit que vraiment, la série fut annulée trop tôt : la voix-off des débuts avait été plus ou moins abandonnée, les épisodes donnaient lieu à des intrigues un peu moins prévisibles, avec plus d’événements, et les personnages de Vampires vus de temps à autres commençaient à constituer un ensemble fort sympathique, jusqu’au dernier épisode les voyant interagir tous ensemble pour les besoins d’une mission. Peut-être même que la série aurait pu être plus forte qu’<em><strong><span style="color: #ff0000;">Highlander</span></strong></em>, qui elle aussi partait de très loin. Les flash-backs étaient de plus en plus intéressants et fascinants, la mythologie commençait à s’étoffer… Bref, c’est dommage que la série ait souffert de ses débuts poussifs et de ses remous en coulisses des débuts. </span></span></p><p align="justify"><span style="font-family: 'Trebuchet MS';"><span style="font-size: small;"><strong><em><span style="text-decoration: underline;">Côté production :</span></em></strong> Une recherche rapide sur Internet, en consultant TV.com par exemple, éclaire sur les tergiversations du début. Créée en partie par Joel Silver, la série aura dès le départ souffert d’un changement rapide de <em>showrunner</em>. David Greenwalt, co-créateur et scénariste de <em><strong><span style="color: #ff0000;">Angel</span></strong></em>, devait assurer ce poste sur <em><strong><span style="color: #ffc000;">MOONLIGHT</span></strong></em> mais des raisons de santé l’ont amené à quitter le poste. Un premier Pilote, jamais diffusé, avait été tourné, avant que la quasi-intégralité des acteurs soit remplacés (<em>!!!</em>), à l’exception d’Alex O’Loughlin.</span></span></p><p align="justify"><span style="font-family: 'Trebuchet MS';"><span style="font-size: small;"><span style="text-decoration: underline;"><em><strong>Côté Cast :</strong></em></span> Dans le rôle principal de Mick St-John, on trouve avec plaisir Alex O’Loughlin, donc, devenu depuis Steve McGarrett (<em>personnellement, je le préfère dans ce rôle. Les cheveux courts lui vont mieux, je trouve</em>), après que sa précédente série, <em><strong>Three Rivers</strong></em>, un drama médical, soit elle aussi annulée assez rapidement. A ses côtés, la belle Sophia Myles, vue dans un épisode de <em><strong><span style="color: #ff0000;">Doctor Who</span></strong></em> où elle incarnaît Reinette, aperçue dans le rôle d’une Vampire dans <em><strong><span style="color: #ff0000;">Underworld 2 </span></strong></em>(<em>!!!</em>), Josef Kostan est interprété par Jason Dohring, qui faisait partie de la distribution régulière de <em><strong><span style="color: #ff0000;">Veronica Mars</span></strong></em>, série déjà produite par Joel Silver. Au détour des épisodes, on se plaira à reconnaître Kevin Weisman, le Marshall Flinkman d’<em><strong><span style="color: #ff0000;">ALIAS</span></strong></em>, la chanteuse et actrice Holly Valance, vue dans quelques épisodes de Prison Break, qui sortait avec Alex O’Loughlin à l’époque (<em>placement de copine ??!!!</em>), Meredith Monroe, en Vampire Sexy (vue dans <em><strong>Dawson’sCreek</strong></em> et <em><strong><span style="color: #0000ff;">Criminal Minds</span></strong></em>), Victoria Pratt (vue dans <em><strong><span style="color: #ffc000;">Mutant-X</span></strong></em>, <em><strong><span style="color: #ffc000;">Day Break</span></strong></em>), Claudia Black, qui fut Aeryn Sun dans <em><strong><span style="color: #ff0000;">FARSCAPE</span></strong></em> et Vala Mal Doran dans <em><strong><span style="color: #ff0000;">Stargate SG-1</span></strong></em>, (<em>au passage, c’est le 3ème rôle où elle porte une tenue de cuir qu’elle s’offre… Une vraie icone sexy, cette actrice, mine de rien !!</em>) et Jonathan LaPaglia (vu dans <em><strong><span style="color: #ff0000;">7 Days</span></strong></em>).</span></span></p><p style="text-align: center;"><img id="media-3693248" style="margin: 0.7em 0;" title="" src="http://seriesverseofknight.hautetfort.com/media/00/02/867450730.jpg" alt="moonlight,mick st-john,beth turner,alex o'loughlin,sophia myles,jason dohrin,josef kostant,claudia black,kevin weisman,vampires,fantastique,policier,histoire des séries américaines" /></p>

Dennis Lehane, devenu célèbre depuis que certains de ses livres, adaptés au cinéma, ont fait un tabac dans les salles, (Mystic River de Clint Eastwood, Shutter Island de Scorsese, Gone Baby Gone de Affleck ont été en effet de gros succès publics) reprend ici les personnages des deux détectives Patrick Kenzie et Angela Gennaro, embarqués dans une histoire qui les plonge vers leur passé, douze ans en arrière, à l’époque de <strong><em>Gone baby gone </em></strong>où ils recherchaient alors Amanda, une petite fille de quatre ans qui avait disparu.</span></p><p style="text-align: justify;"><span style="font-family: times new roman,times; font-size: medium;">Moonlight Mile est un thriller, et Lehane maîtrise parfaitement les codes du genre.
