Cette année, <em><strong>Ganesh Chaturthi </strong></em>aura lieu le <span style="color: #cc3399;"><strong>dimanche prochain</strong></span>, 30 août.</p><p style="text-align: justify;">En 2012, j'avais suivi le cortège parisien qui part du Temple <em><strong><a href="http://www.templeganesh.fr/" target="_blank">Sri Manicka Vinayakar Alayam</a></strong></em> dans le 18ème arrondissement. Quelle meilleure façon pour moi de préparer mon prochain voyage ? L'une étant "Poussée dans l'escalier" (Meja - All 'bout the money), l'autre étant une chanson de Claude Français dont je ne connais absolument pas le nom mais peu importe, elle s'intitule "Je suis un clodo". La particularité de ces deux chansons, c'est que c'est bibi qui a enregistré Ganesh2 chez lui dans son home-studio ! Emilie et moi sommes arrivées à 16h30, juste avant que la rue soit bloquée et juste après que la pluie s’est arrêtée. Qu’au 21<sup>ème</sup> siècle, des millions de personnes, dans un pays qui a l’arme nucléaire et les hommes les plus riches du monde (ça n’a rien à voir mais bon), se mettent en 4 pour mettre un éléphant à l’eau, moi ça me fait réfléchir. Evidemment c’est sympa. Y a la liesse populaire, les couleurs, le bruit (beaucoup de bruit), la tradition, l’enfance qui repointe le bout de son nez. Mais c’est quand même un éléphant les gars. Bref, je respecte, mais je pense.</span></span><span style="font-size: 8pt; color: #333300;"><span style="font-family: Arial;"> </span></span> </p><p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0cm 0cm 0pt; text-align: justify;"> </p><p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0cm 0cm 0pt; text-align: justify;"><span style="font-family: Arial;"><span style="font-size: 8pt; color: #333300;">D’autant que cette célébration, dans sa forme actuelle, n’est pas si récente que ça :</span> <span style="font-size: 8pt; color: maroon;">Ganapati est un festival dédié au dieu Ganesh, célébré dans toute l'Inde mais surtout le Maharashtra (tout a commencé à Pune). En 1893, en plein sous la domination britannique, un type qui s'appelle Lokmanya Tilak a transformé un festival célébré en famille en un évènement public, et ce afin de "réduire le fossé entre les brahmanes et les non-brahmanes" et surtout créer une unité, un sentiment d'appartenance à une nation en réponse à la présence anglaise. Ganesh a été choisi parce qu'il est le « dieu de tout homme »</span><span style="font-size: 8pt; color: #333300;">.</span></span></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0cm 0cm 0pt; text-align: justify;"><span style="font-size: 8pt; color: #333300;"><span style="font-family: Arial;">Le festival Ganesh Chaturthi dure 10 jours et se termine avec l’immersion ou Nimajjan de l’idole Ganesh dans l’eau, connu sous le nom Ganesh Visarjan ou Vinayaka Nimajjan. Cette année, Ganpati Visarjan est le 3 Septembre – le jour de Ananta Chaturadsi. Mais chacun peut choisir sa date en fait. Ainsi, Ganesh est également mis à l’eau un jour et demi après le début du festival (c’était le 24 août), ou le 3ème, le 5ème, le 7<sup>ème</sup> (c’était hier, et c’était également le jour de la mère de Ganesh, Gauri ou Parvati) et le 10ème jour – c’est le jour où il y a le plus d’immersions.</span></span></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0cm 0cm 0pt; text-align: justify;"><span style="font-size: 8pt; color: #333300;"><span style="font-family: Arial;"> </span></span></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0cm 0cm 0pt; text-align: justify;"><span style="font-family: Arial;"><span style="font-size: 8pt; color: #333300;">Je pensais d’ailleurs que, certes l’eau est un élément purificateur dans la mythologie hindoue, mais pourquoi noyer une idole et pas simplement lui faire prendre un bain ? C’est quand même barbare une noyade. J’ai donc cherché trouvé que,</span> <span style="font-size: 8pt; color: maroon;">symboliquement, le festival de Ganesh Charturthi signifie que Lord Ganesh vient et reste parmi nous pendant 10 jours. L’immersion symbolise son départ de la Terre après avoir fait sauter les obstacles et balayer le malheur de ses dévots</span><span style="font-size: 8pt; color: #333300;">. J’accepte désormais d’y suivre Shiv pasque j’y ai découvert un truc pas épicé qui ressemble franchement à de la blanquette… Pourquoi se priver ??!</font></span></p> <p align="justify"><span style="font-size: 11pt; font-family: Palatino"><font face="Times New Roman">Samedi après-midi, sortie au zoo avec Marie, et bonne partie de rigolade. D’abord le tigre royal du Bengale. Impossible de rien voir, juste une espèce de beuglement dans le lointain… Alors forcément, quand on a vu un truc blanc s'approcher entre les branchages, et ben nous nous sommes dit ça devait être la vache qu’ils lui servent en dîner… Eh non, c’était le tigre ! Nous ne savons toujours pas si il est blanc d’origine (copain !!) ou si c’est seulement un vieux, très vieux tigre. Comme il refusait de s’approcher pour la photo (le bougre), j’ai du retenir Marie qui voulait lui balancer l’hideux porc-épic en pâture, ou même pire, un ptit indien…</font></span></p> <p align="justify"><span style="font-size: 11pt; font-family: Palatino"><font face="Times New Roman">Ensuite le léopard. Pauvre bête dans une cage à double rangée de barreaux, dressé pour en faire le tour quand le gardien siffle. Pathétique. En plus, avec ces doubles barreaux, impossible de prendre une photo correcte. Non mais on se moque de qui ??!</font></span></p> <p align="justify"><span style="font-size: 11pt; font-family: Palatino"><font face="Times New Roman">Et puis les singes. Pas de commentaire pour l’instant, les photos parleront d’elle-même…</font></span></p> <p align="justify"><span style="font-size: 11pt; font-family: Palatino"><font face="Times New Roman">Pour finir, les serpouilles. On nous avait promis des cobras. Mais nous refusions de croire que les espèces de couleuvres endormies étaient des cobras. Ca a un coup énorme non les cobras ?? Voilà donc que je m’excite à demander en hindi où sont les foutus cobras (« cobras kaha hai ? » - c’est pas trop difficile non plus…). Le type a du se dire que ces 2 blondes étaient un cas désespéré et a fini par agiter un bâton pour les réveiller. Oh magie, des cobras !! J’ai bien fait de laisser tomber les sciences nat…</font></span></p> <p align="justify"><span style="font-size: 11pt; font-family: Palatino"><font face="Times New Roman">Pour 3 roupies (0,05 €), nous avons pris un bol d’air, vu 3 animaux (mais c’est mieux que rien), et eu l’impression d’attirer davantage la curiosité que les pauvres élans qui mâchouillaient leurs brins d’herbe. Sacrée sortie !</font></span></p> <p align="justify"><span style="font-size: 11pt; font-family: Palatino"><font face="Times New Roman">Mais dimanche a battu tous les records… Debout à 9h, nous voilà dans la voiture (avec chauffeur s’il vous plaît – il y a quand même 35 kms alors j’ai décidé de ne pas écouter les conseils de notre amie indienne qui voulait nous y envoyer en rickshaw (à ce train-là nous aurions été aussi vite en charrue à bœuf)), en route pour aller faire du canasson. Un miracle, nous ne nous sommes presque pas perdus… Là, dans un magnifique centre équestre, avec de très beaux chevaux (la main d’œuvre coûte rien ici m’avait-on expliqué en décembre), nous avons fait une petite ballade d’une demi-heure dans la campagne marathe. Marie sur Naomi, moi sur Alka (ça vous fait une belle jambe pas vrai ??). Du pas, du trot, 50m de galop, quelques buffles agressifs plus tard, nous sommes de retour au bercail, saines et sauves.</font></span></p> <p align="justify"><span style="font-size: 11pt; font-family: Palatino"><font face="Times New Roman">Ensuite, direction un fort. Le guide en dit que la vue est magnifique et qu’elle se mérite parce qu’il y a une montée. Point. Ni une ni deux, le chauffeur se lance en direction de Nasik. Au bout d’une heure, nous lui demandons si il reste longtemps… Une heure, 50 kms. Mais on va où là ??? Une heure plus tard, il s’arrête pour demander son chemin. Et apprend au passage qu’il reste encore 45 kms (en fait 100, c’est écrit dans le guide, oups) et que la montée dure 5 heures (ah ça non, c’est pas écrit dans le guide, dammit). Allons donc prendre un <i>cay</i> (thé). Tranquilou bidou le chauffeur se fait inviter ! Bon pour 5 roupies on peut rien dire… ;) Et voilà que, revigoré par le cay, il prend des initiatives et décide de nous emmener voir un temple ! Puis un deuxième… Il a vraiment repris du poil de la bête parce que le deuxième est sculpté dans la roche et y a une sacrée grimpette (aurait-il décidé de lui-même de nous consoler de notre escalade au fort avortée ??). A 17h, heure de retour prévue, nous quittons le temple, un peu angoissées à l’idée qu’il nous fasse visiter les 6 autres – nous venons en effet d’apprendre que nous nous sommes lancées dans la boucle des 8 temples de Ganesh de la région de Pune !! Mais non, le chauffeur a envie de rentrer, lui aussi. Une petite demi-heure plus tard, on se dit qu’on ne va pas tarder à arriver. Douce blague, il nous faudra encore 2h pour retrouver Pune. Mine de rien, on se sera fait presque 300 kms dans la journée !! Contre les 80 prévus au départ… (ça n’a d’ailleurs pas échappé au chauffeur, qui triplera son tarif…). Mais on en aura vu des choses !</font></span></p> <p align="justify"><span style="font-size: 11pt; font-family: Palatino"><font face="Times New Roman"><font color="#000080"><strong><u>Point culturel</u></strong> : l’<b>Ashta Vinayaka</b> ou les 8 temples de Ganesh de la région de Pune-Nasik (dont j’ignorais complètement l’existence au bout de 11 mois, la honte…).</font></font></span> <span style="font-size: 11pt; font-family: Palatino"><a href="http://ganapati.club.fr/anglais/asud/adetsud.html"><font color="#000080" face="Times New Roman">http://ganapati.club.fr/anglais/asud/adetsud.html</font></a></span> <font face="Times New Roman"><font color="#000080"><span style="font-size: 11pt; font-family: Palatino">Pour les paresseux, une brève traduction : il s’agit d’un des plus importants pèlerinage dédié à Ganesh en Inde (et nous pauvres ignorantes nous pensions visiter de banals temples…). Indra pensait qu’il serait viré si le roi menait à bien ce sacrifice alors il a ordonné à Kala (le dieu du temps) de mettre des obstacles sur la route du roi. <em>En fait je comprends rien donc j’arrête de traduire…</em> Le temple est particulier parce qu’il est entouré de 4 côtés par un mur de pierre protecteur. A l’entrée il y a 2 Deep<em>-Malas</em> (des piliers en pierre pour les lampes à huile) et 2 énormes <em>Dvarapala</em>, les gardiens de la porte – <em>effectivement, nous avions repéré ces trucs bizarres</em>. Le temple a 2 mandapas, un avec une statue de Dhundiraj et l’autre avec une idole de rat (<em>ah ah, Marie, j’avais raison, c’était un rat, pas un chien, t’es trop nulle !</em>) en position de sprinter sur le marble blanc. C’est vrai, on a vu tout ça…</font></font></span></p> <p align="justify"><span style="font-size: 11pt; font-family: Palatino"><font face="Times New Roman"><font color="#000080">Pour l’autre, <strong>Lenyadri, ou Shri</strong> <span><strong>Girijatmajvinayak</strong>, je vais faire court. Ganesh, satisfait, lui a donné le fils qu’elle voulait. Puis un jour, Parvati a pris un bout de son corps (ou son écharpe, j’ai pas trop compris), l’a mélangé avec de l’huile et des onguents et a formé l’idole de Ganesh. Elle célèbrait son idole (on appelle ça <em>pooja</em>) quand soudain l’idole a pris vie et dit à Parvati qu’elle pouvait emmener l’avatar chez elle. Le 11<sup>ème</sup> jour il a pris le nom de Ganesh, ce qui signifie la personne qui maîtrise les 3 qualités Satva, Raja and Tama. Le seigneur Shiv Shankar (non non pas le mien) lui a donné le pouvoir que quiconque se souvienne de Ganesh avant de commencer un ouvrage le finisse avec succès.
