Nouveau Parc, nouveau territoire,

Nouvel Echo, nouvelle présentation,

Nouveaux articles à savourer dont le succulent AVIS A LA POPULATION sur l'information locale d'antan, la réclame d'hier et le matraquage d'aujourd'hui. Un cadre pour la publicité dans le paysage, c'est très bien mais de grâce Messire Yves, protégez nos boites à lettres!

A quand donc de nouvelles résolutions pour la distribution de l'Echo?? Un sujet sur lequel devra se pencher la toute nouvelle commission communication car le problème déjà dénoncé et résolu il y a quelques années semble de nouveau insoluble pour le Parc.

Si certains chevrotins se plaignent de ne pas avoir la revue du Parc, d'autres au contraire enragent de la recevoir au milieu d'un tas d'immondices publicitaires alors qu'il ont fermé leur boite à lettre à la pub grâce au fameux STOP PUB. Trois agressions par an de la boite à lettre et toujours avec l'aide de l'Echo du Parc.

Voici les suppléments gratuits du premier Echo du Parc de 2012:

- Carrefour Market 50% sur le foie gras Labeyrie. Du 100 % pas local garanti.

- Acheter-Louer magazine de promotion immobilière auparavant à peu près local mais qui englobe maintenant le 92. Un territoire bien trop grand. Un gâchis de papier de Rueil à Saint Arnoult. Agences de Chevreuse, s'il vous plaît, trouvez un autre moyen d'info locale.

- Osprey Achète OR et Bijoux. Un bon petit commerce en temps de crise.

Que faire? Le Parc se défend que le problème ne concerne que quelques communes dont Chevreuse. Dans beaucoup des communes, l'Echo est distribué par des moyens locaux avec le bulletin municipal. Une bonne idée qui pourrait être mise en place dans notre ville. Des petits boulots à créer peut-être.

En attendant, Damoiselles et Gentilshommes de la forteresse de la Madeleine, merci de rappeler à votre prestataire que le STOP PUB sur la boite à lettre ne permet pas la distribution de l'Echo du Parc s'il est accompagné de publicités non adressées.

Un reprsentant d'Universal, la maison de disques de Lady GaGa, a confi au journal britannique Daily Mirror "Les pirates ont pris tout le contenu de la base de donnes du site www.ladygaga.co.uk et une partie des email, des noms et prnoms des fans de la chanteuse. Aucun mot de passe et aucune information financire n'ont t drobs. Nous prenons cette affaire trs au srieux et avons mis en place des mesures additionnelles pour protger ce genre d'informations personnelles. Tous ceux qui ont t affects par ce vol, en ont t informs."

It is vulgar and vainglorious and therefore entirely typical of Sarah Palin's political style to try to meet with Margaret Thatcher, says Alex Massie.

does not, I think, like to be thwarted. Nevertheless, there are some opponents she cannot hope to best—among them, the loyal guardians of Margaret Thatcher's dignity, reputation, and legacy.

"I am going to Sudan in July and hope to stop in England on the way," Palin said this week. "I am just hoping Mrs. Thatcher is well enough to see me as I so admire her."

She can think again. One Thatcherite ally : "Lady Thatcher will not be seeing Sarah Palin. That would be belittling for Margaret. Sarah Palin is nuts." Indeed. Or as Tim Montgomerie, editor of the influential , "She is an embarrassment for mainstream Conservatives." Quite so.

There is something loathsome about this attempt to use a frail 86-year-old stroke victim (who has largely retired from public life) as fodder to enhance your own domestic political agenda. It is vulgar and it is vainglorious and therefore entirely typical of Palin's political style.

But Lady Thatcher is not a boardwalk attraction to be gawped at by tourists from Palookaville. It takes a special kind of self-absorption, even in the competitive political field, to suppose that ill health must be the only thing that could prevent a Thatcher-Palin photo op.

Why should Lady Thatcher have any interest in meeting Palin? Even if the Iron Lady were not in such rusty health, what would be the point or purpose of any such encounter? What possible interest could she have in meeting a two-bit, half-term governor of Alaska? To ask the question is to make the answer so clear that even Palin's most deluded admirers might be able to understand it.

What, assuming the former prime minister were in the habit of receiving guests (which she is not), could they possibly talk about? One is a giant figure; the other, politically speaking, a carnival pygmy better suited to life on a second-rate reality television show.

This is not the first time Palin has attempted to sun and preen herself in the heat of a Thatcherite sun. Two years ago, for no obvious reason beyond self-promotion, she "offered" the former prime minister her birthday congratulations. Last year, in a note posted on her Facebook page, Palin revealed she had "received an invitation for a visit to London, and part of that invitation included the offer of arranging a meeting between myself and one of my political heroines, the 'Iron Lady,' Margaret Thatcher. I would love to meet her and hope I’ll be able to arrange the trip in the future."

Readers will note that this invitation—of unknown provenance—did not actually include a meeting with Lady Thatcher, merely the "offer" to perhaps "arrange" such a meeting. Nevertheless, Palin was happy to foster the impression that a meeting was all but finalized. "I cherish her example and will always count her as one of my role models," she added, once again attempting to forge a spurious link between her career and Thatcher's. At this rate, and the next time she tries this trick, we may expect her more devoted supporters to start suggesting that it's Lady Thatcher who'd be flattered by meeting with Sarah Barracuda.

All in all it's a piece of megalomania not witnessed on these shores since Rudy Giuliani popped up in London to deliver, as it happens, the Margaret Thatcher Memorial Lecture, during which he boasted he was one of the "four or five" most famous Americans on the planet.

More pertinently, though Hizzoner's London trip—which included meetings with Prime Minister Gordon Brown, Tony Blair, and, for some reason, Winston Churchill's grand-daughter—was designed to burnish his foreign-policy credentials and was treated seriously by supposedly sage and serious commentators in Washington, it made no impression whatsoever on the people who actually voted in the 2008 Republican primary.

There is no reason to think that Palin's jaunt abroad will be any more successful. If some voters are tempted to endorse her putative candidacy because they have been impressed by a couple of photo ops overseas, then it's time to question the usefulness of the universal franchise.

For that matter, one lesson to be drawn from this minor episode is that Palin should be relieved that her grim and tasteless photo op will not take place. After all, putting Palin and Thatcher in the same room invites voters to make a comparison between the two ladies that cannot possibly end well for the erstwhile governor of Alaska.

Coming to a television near you: The Bible, from Mark Burnett

History has big plans to make must-see-TV out of the Bible.

The project, which comes from reality producer Mark Burnett, will air as a five-part, 10-hour scripted docu-drama with live-action and state-of-the-art CGI. Given both its scale and production value, "The Bible" won't appear on History's schedule until 2013.

"This is probably the most important book in mankind, regardless of your beliefs or religious affiliation," History president and general manager Nancy Dubuc tells The Hollywood Reporter. "This series will bring the historical stories of the Bible to life for a new generation."

The series, which was conceived by Burnett and his wife, actress Roma Downey, will set out to tell the tome's stories, including Noah's Ark, the Exodus and the crucifixion and resurrection of Jesus.

"We spend a lot of time talking about this book, and probably not enough time knowing what's in it," Dubuc says. "One of the most important things about history is knowing the stories of history."

This is not the first time History has ventured into religious territory. Just last year, the cable network aired a documentary entitled "The Real Face of Jesus?"

But rather than approach the genre as an investigation or mystery as the net has done in the past, "The Bible" will be a more straightforward interpretation.

This is something of a reunion for Burnett and Dubuc, who worked together on the 2009 History series "Expedition Africa." Dubuc tells THR she is eager to be back in business with the man she calls "one of the most visual storytellers out there."

News of the project comes more than a month after Burnett joined forces with Hearst Corp. to form a 50:50 media, a production and events-based joint venture. As part of the deal, Hearst, a co-owner of History parent A&E Television Networks, acquired a substantial stake in Burnett's existing production business.

Hazard: The wooden side rails that run from the headboard to the footboard and hold the bunk bed's mattress in place can split and cause the bunk bed to collapse, posing a fall hazard to consumers.

Incidents/Injuries: CPSC and Dorel Asia have received 23 reports of the side rails cracking or breaking, including seven reports of minor bruises or abrasions.

Bremen keen to keep coach Schaaf despite poor season

Bundesliga strugglers Werder Bremen want to offer long-serving coach Thomas Schaaf a contract extension despite their disappointing season, director of sport Klaus Allofs revealed on Wednesday.

"We want to continue our work with Thomas and extend his contract," Allofs told German daily Bild.

"We're looking beyond 2012 with the players and it's the same for the coach."

Schaaf, 49, is one of the Bundesliga's longest-serving coaches and has been in charge of Bremen since May 1999.

He is under contract until 2012 and steered Bremen to the German Cup and Bundesliga titles in 2004, when the north German side did the domestic double.

Negotiations over a contract extension are expected to be finalised as soon as Bremen, currently 13th in the Bundesliga, have confirmed their place in Germany's top division for next season.

"I know that he interests lots of clubs, but I've been working with him for 12 years and I know him well. I'm relaxed," added Allofs.

The 2010-11 season has, however, been a difficult one for Schaaf, who saw his team eliminated from both the German Cup and the Champions League at the early stages.

Bremen are widely seen as playing some of the most attractive football in the German top flight, but they have been on the receiving end of some heavy defeats this campaign.

They have conceded four goals or more on five occasions, notably losing 6-0 at Stuttgart in November and going down 4-0 against Schalke in November and against Hamburg in February.

Their record of 55 goals conceded represents the second-worst defensive statistics in the division behind bottom club Borussia Moenchengladbach.

Lawmakers Question If Search Engines Contribute to Piracy

There are a number of ... search engines that act as intermediaries and facilitate what all this lecturing is about, piracy and stealing," Representative John Conyers Jr., said during a subcommittee hearing. "What responsibilities do they have? Are we all the innocents, and all the bad guys are overseas?"

Conyers, a Michigan Democrat, and other members of the U.S. House of Representatives Judiciary Committee's Internet subcommittee said they will work on legislation this year to attack so-called "parasite" websites that offer free, unauthorized copies of digital songs and movies or sell counterfeit shoes, handbags and other products. But lawmakers heard conflicting proposals on how to shut down the piracy and counterfeit sites, with some witnesses at Wednesday's hearing suggesting that it's difficult to prosecute owners of overseas websites.

Conyers and Representative Ben Quayle, an Arizona Republican, questioned why Google and other search engines can't filter search results and block customer links to infringing sites.

Even if websites are overseas, "that doesn't mean we can't disable the search to those," added Christine Jones, executive vice president and general counsel for Go Daddy Group, a large domain name registrar.

Google does bury the search results of sites that sell pirated or counterfeit products after complaints from copyright holders, said Kent Walker, senior vice president and general counsel at Google. In the last half of 2010, Google also shut down about 50,000 accounts for attempting to use sponsored links to advertise counterfeit goods, he noted.

But it's difficult to filter Web searches ahead of time because searches for legal sites are often similar to searches for piracy or counterfeit sites, and Google doesn't want to be in the position of deciding what sites should be excluded from search results, Walker added.

"It's a whack-a-mole problem, as we constantly work to improve our practices against sophisticated entities trying to game our protections," Walker said. "It is incredibly difficult for Google to identify a counterfeit product being advertised. Online advertising companies, which do not take possession of the good, cannot know for sure whether any particular item out of millions advertised is indeed a counterfeit."

Even if search engines bury piracy sites, online word-of-mouth can cause the sites to rise again in the results, Walker said. Instead of focusing on search results, prosecutors and lawmakers should focus on the advertising and financial transactions that pay for piracy and counterfeit sites, he added.

Some subcommittee members praised U.S. Immigrations and Customs Enforcement (ICE) for, in the past year, seizing 119 websites accused of dealing in pirated goods. But others questioned the practice and a 2010 Senate bill, the(COICA), which would have given ICE and the U.S. Department of Justice new authority to forcethat allegedly infringe copyright.

Civil liberties groups and other critics of the domain name seizures have said the tactic doesn't give website owners a chance to respond to ICE and DOJ allegations that their sites infringe copyright. In some cases, the seizures have shut down websites that link to legal content or that contain significant original content, including blogs and message boards, critics have said.

ICE and the DOJ have to be careful to only shut down sites that primarily focus on piracy, said Floyd Abrams, a lawyer focused on free speech issues. But Abrams defended COICA and the domain-name seizures, saying that if the agencies get a court order determining the sites infringe copyright, the seizures wouldn't violate the First Amendment of the U.S. Constitution.

"We're often talking about taking down an infringing movie, an infringing design, when the real problem is very often that these sites are only infringing sites -- everything on them is infringing," Abrams said.

But Representative Mel Watt, a North Carolina Democrat, questioned if piracy sites could argue they are protected by the First Amendment by including some original content. "If you're telling [criminals] that all you're doing is taking down sites that are exclusively dedicated to criminal activity, he's going to mix in a little legitimate stuff, don't you think?" he said.

Go Daddy's Jones said her company shuts down all sites found to infringe after complaints from copyright owners, even if there also is legitimate content on those sites. "If there is some infringing content, and the person that owns the website doesn't cure it, we disable the entire website," she said. "You either are engaged in unlawful activity, or you're not. There's no such thing as halfway."

Why Amazon May Soon Collect Sales Tax

You may or may not have realized it in the course of shopping online,but Amazon.com has avoided collecting sales taxes from most customersfor 16 years. Those days may be over.

Janet Novack at Forbes that the company's strategy is increasingly imperiled as Amazon buildswarehouse and fulfillment centers in more locations, cash-strappedstates search for revenue, and retailers who do collect sales tax growincreasingly frustrated about the price advantage Amazon enjoys,especially as sales tax rates rise.

Amazon, according to Novack, is the only company among the web's retailers that doesn't collect sales tax from most buyers. How has the web's largest retailer managed to do it?

Back in 1992, the Supreme Courtthat only merchants with a physical presence in a state--a store,say, or an office--had to collect that state's sales tax, in an to avoid forcing retailers to comply with thousands of tax jurisdictionsand interfering with interstate commerce. Novack says Amazon's CEO,Jeff Bezos, took advantage of the ruling by by locating his first East Coastdistribution center in sales tax-free Delaware and by establishing Amazon's headquarters in Seattle rather than Silicon Valley to avoid chargingCalifornia customers sales tax.

Overthe years, some states have challenged the definition of a "physicalpresence." In 2008, for example, New York requiredInternet retailers like Amazon to collect state sales taxes if theypartnered with "affiliate" sellers that had physical operations in NewYork. When other states adopted similar measures, Amazon responded bydropping its affiliates in those locations. The Seattle Times has ashowing the states where Amazon has distribution centers and the states where the company actually collects sales tax. (Many people are not aware that states actually require shoppers to pay the sales tax on their online purchases evenif retailers don't collect the tax. But, as the National RetailFederation's Maureen Reihl tells , it's "an honor system"--one that's rarely honored.)

There are reasons to believe, however, that more states will soon win their battle with Amazon. As Douglas McIntyre at 24/7 Wall St., Amazon's logistics operations simply need to belocated somewhere, and the company, as it grows, "will eventually betripped by its own infrastructure needs." Meanwhile, as states facebudget shortfalls and e-commerce expands, , , andare debating legislation to compel companies like Amazon to collect state salestaxes andis rethinking its promise to grant Amazon a sales tax break in exchange for establishing a distribution center in the state. Furthermore, as the recession continues to take a toll on small businesses, complaints from brick-and-mortarretailers that Amazon enjoys a competitive advantage may belanding on more sympathetic ears. As one retailer in Indianappolis toldCNN, "They can come in my store and look at it ... they can touch it,they can feel it, but then they can go home and order it online ... andnot pay sales tax."

West may rue close ties to Libya's Gadhafi

When Moammar Gadhafi told the world he was a changed man, some leaders were skeptical. Others, like Britain's Tony Blair, were quicker to see the benefits of rapprochement with the oil-rich nation.

Now, as Gadhafi's regime crumbles, questions are being raised about whether Britain, the United States, and others were too quick to embrace a volatile despot linked to terrorism and oppression as they sought lucrative business deals.

Those deals worth billions are now in jeopardy as Libya hurtles toward civil war. The strategic decision to build ties with the likes of Gadhafi, Egypt's Hosni Mubarak, and Tunisia's Ben Ali also threatens to further inflame anti-Western anger in the Arab world.

Blair's role was particularly vital in Gadhafi's international rehabilitation.

The former British prime minister flew to Libya in 2004, holding talks with Gadhafi inside a Bedouin tent. He praised the leader for ending Libya's nuclear and chemical weapons program and stressed the need for new security alliances in the wake of the Sept. 11 terror attacks. British commercial deals soon followed.

Britain sold Libya about 40 million pounds ($55 million) worth of military and paramilitary equipment in the year ending Sept. 30, 2010, according to Foreign Office statistics. Among the items: sniper rifles, bulletproof vehicles, crowd control ammunition, and tear gas.

"What did the Foreign Office think Colonel Gadhafi meant to do with sniper rifles and tear gas grenades — go mole hunting?" asked Britain's Guardian newspaper.

Although Britain's current government led by David Cameron has revoked dozens of export licenses to Libya in the wake of the Libyan violence, many say the very weapons and equipment Britain has sold to Libya are being used against the country's people.

Britain's elite Special Air Service, or SAS, also participated in recent training for Libyan soldiers in counterterrorism and surveillance. Robin Horsfall, a former SAS soldier, said at the time that the training was a mistake: "People will die as a result of this decision," he warned.

Since Scotland's release of Abdel Baset al-Megrahi — the only man convicted in the 1988 bombing of Pan Am Flight 103 over Lockerbie, Scotland — U.S. lawmakers have accused Britain of backing the Libyan's freedom in exchange for oil deals. The former Libyan intelligence agent was accused of placing a bomb on the plane. The bombing killed 280, many of them American students.

"Moammar Gadhafi is a terrorist — plain and simple," said U.S. Senator Robert Menendez, a Democrat from New Jersey, after Libya's former Justice Minister Mustafa Abdel-Jalil told the Swedish tabloid Expressen Wednesday that Gadhafi had personally ordered the Lockerbie bombing.

But Washington has also cultivated ties with Gadhafi.

In 2008, former president George W. Bush sent his top diplomat Condoleezza Rice to Libya for talks with Gadhafi. She called the trip "historic" and said it had "come after a lot of difficulty, the suffering of many people that will never be forgotten or assuaged."

The same year, Texas-based Exxon Mobil signed an exploration agreement with the Libyan National Oil Corp. to explore for hydrocarbons off the Libyan coast.

The U.S. also approved the sale of military items to Libya in recent years, giving private arms firms licenses to sell everything from explosives and incendiary agents to aircraft parts and targeting equipment.

The Bush administration approved the sale of $3 million of materials to Libya in 2006 and $5.3 million in 2007. In 2008, Libya was allowed to import $46 million in armaments from the U.S. The approved goods included nearly 400 shipments of explosive and incendiary materials, 25,000 aircraft parts, 56,000 military electronics components and nearly 1,000 items of optical targeting and other guidance equipment.

The U.S. State Department has not yet provided figures for materiel licensed to Libya during the Obama administration. But according to one U.S. government official, Congress spurned a 2009 Obama administration request for approval of a license to allow the private shipment of M113 armored personnel carriers.

The official, who insisted on anonymity because the licensing process is classified, would not detail the number of armored cars sought by Libya. Libyan military officials had pressed U.S. officials as far back as 2007 for the cars and troop-carrying Chinook helicopters, but the Bush administration balked at the requests, the official said.

U.N. High Commissioner for Human Rights Navi Pillay recalled that U.S. leaders discouraged her from pressing Libya on its poor human rights record.

"In the last few days (of the Bush administration) I did meet with some representatives of the U.S. administration," Pillay told The Associated Press in an interview. "They said to me the human rights record of Libya is fine so you needn't touch that."

Many in the intelligence community say they viewed Gadhafi's supposed transformation with cautious optimism at the time.

"He said he wanted to fight extremism, which we viewed positively much like the Americans," Ilan Mizrahi, former deputy in Israel's Mossad intelligence agency told the AP on Wednesday. "But we also said to be cautious of these moments of sanity."

Few European leaders have escaped the wrath of newspaper editorials or embarrassing photo montages with the eccentric leader. Former British prime ministers Blair and Gordon Brown, France's Nicolas Sarkozy, Germany's then-chancellor Gerhard Schroeder and Italy's Premier Silvio Berlusconi are among them.

The West's dance with Gadhafi and others has already angered some protesters, who feel big powers kept their oppressors in power and enriched them, while cheating ordinary people out of the riches that foreign oil companies have garnered.

For Italy, Libya's proximity to Italian islands and the potential for a refugee influx has long encouraged Rome to foster close ties. Italy, an energy-poor country, also has a large stake in the North African nation's oil production.

For Germany, Schroeder's 2004 visit followed Libya's agreement to pay compensation to victims of a 1986 disco bombing in West Berlin. During that trip, an oil well run by Germany's Wintershall was inaugurated.

France, too, courted Gadhafi in 2007. The leader pitched a tent in the elegant garden of the official guest residence in Paris and stayed three days longer than expected. Sarkozy said of the visit, "If we don't welcome those who take the road to respectability, then what do we say to those who take the opposite road?"

But for Britain, Libya's revolt has been more acutely embarrassing.

Gadhafi once supplied the IRA with weapons and explosives used to kill hundreds in Northern Ireland and Britain, and one of his henchmen was accused in the killing of a British policewoman outside Tripoli's embassy in London in 1984 during a demonstration.

He has also been repeatedly linked to the Lockerbie bombing, though the allegations have never been proven.

Still, when the cancer-stricken Lockerbie bomber was released from prison on compassionate grounds in 2009, his return to Libya was broadcast on live television. Gadhafi and his son threw him an extravagant welcome home party. Family members of the Lockerbie bombing victims said the display was insulting.

At the time of al-Megrahi's release, critics said his freedom was awarded to pave the way for more British oil and trade agreements. Libya produces about 1.6 million barrels of crude per day and has the biggest oil reserves in Africa. It is also the largest exporter to Europe.

In 2007, shortly after Blair re-established relations, BP signed a deal worth at least $900 million to explore Libya. If Gadhafi's regime collapses, there are fears another leader could chooses not to honor the contracts, re-negotiate them or kick foreign oil companies out altogether.

British trade with Libya is also worth around 1.5 billion pounds a year. British exports to the country last year were worth 377.1 million pounds. More than 150 British-based companies operate in Libya, including British Airways, HSBC and Barclays banks and clothing chain Marks & Spencer.

Gordon Brown's spokeswoman Nicola Burdett declined comment on the recent violence or Brown's dealings with Gadhafi when in office. The pair held talks on the sidelines of the 2009 G-8 summit in L'Aquila, Italy. At the time, Brown praised the Libyan leader's decision to scrap his nuclear weapons program.

Blair's office said the former British leader believed he was right to restore relations with Libya.

Blair's spokesman also refused direct comment but made reference to a statement released by his office.

The rest of the world benefited hugely from "the change in Libya's position from a state that was developing nuclear and chemical weapons and sponsoring terrorism, to a state that in 2003 gave up WMD and is now co-operating in the fight against terror," Blair's office said in a statement.

"However none of that justifies the violence internally."

Watchdogs have urged European nations to seize Libyan assets, and criticized their eagerness to court Gadhafi.

"It is difficult to draw lessons in the midst of historic changes, but EU governments have been complacent," said Transparency International's deputy managing director Miklos Marschall. "Short term economic benefits have been considered and very basic principles have been sacrificed."

Power utility BC Hydro plans C$800 million dam upgrade

Provincial power utility BC Hydro unveiled plans on Tuesday for an C$800 million ($808 million) upgrade of an 80-year-old hydroelectric dam and generating plant in southern British Columbia.

The utility said it had applied this week to the British Columbia Utilities Commission, which regulates BC Hydro, to modernize the Ruskin Dam and Powerhouse.

BC Hydro, Canada's third biggest power utility, recently embarked on a C$6 billion, three-year capital program to renew aging power infrastructure and help meet an expected 40 percent increase in power demand in the province in the next 20 years.

The utility has proposed raising electricity rates by 10 percent in each of the next three years to help pay for the infrastructure program.

"We have deferred and put off investments for a decade and we are at a point now where we have to reinvest in our system," BC Hydro Chief Executive Dave Cobb said on a conference call.

The commission is expected to take about a year to decide on the Ruskin project upgrade, officials said.

New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie irked NBC’s David Gregory — and probably won over more conservatives weary of the media in the process — by suggesting on “Meet the Press” that the host was acting as an advocate for Democrats in the way he spoke about taxes.

Christie, a Republican known for his tell-it-like-it-is attitude, disagreed with Gregory’s characterization of the looming battle in Congress over the Bush years tax rate as “tax cuts.”

Christie, saying such word choice drives him “crazy,” said: “This is maintaining the current tax policy in a weak economy, and what you’re advocating through your question is...”

Gregory interrupted: “That’s not fair. I’m not advocating. I’m questioning whether or not they have to be paid for.”

Christie shot back saying the debate over taxes is not about whether to make cuts, but rather is about whether Congress wants to raise taxes during a bad economy.

Also during the interview, Christie called the Tea Party movement a “net positive” for the GOP, though he suggested that voters could have nominated a candidate with a better shot at winning in at least one state. “I think Delaware was a missed opportunity to have a really good United States Senator in Mike Castle,” he said, referencing the race Republican Christine O’Donnell lost. “And that’s why I endorsed him in the primary.”

Christie, as he has done in previous interviews, also ruled out running for president or vice president in 2012, but not necessarily after that. “I’m gonna need a job, David, after 2013, you know?љ And so, whether it’s gonna be being governor of New Jersey or doing something else, I have four kids between seven and 17.љ I’m working the rest of my life anyway.љ So, always gotta be doing something, David.љ So, maybe it’ll be that.љ Who knows?”

Le député Yves Bur demande dans un entretien à La Tribune aux députés de voter une hausse de 10% du prix des cigarettes via de nouvelles taxes. "Si le gouvernement n'impose pas aux fabricants une hausse de 10% des prix de vente du tabac d'ici à l'examen du projet de loi à l'Assemblée nationale, je proposerai une hausse des taxes sur le tabac, afin que le prix des cigarettes augmente de 10%".

Le député, rapporteur UMP du projet de loi de financement de la Sécurité sociale pour 2010, y voit là une mesure de santé publique et n'en démord pas.

Cette position que l'on ne peut accuser de clientèlisme ouvre plus que jamais les débats.

Depuis quelques semaines je me suis ouvert sur ce blog de la maladie de mon second frère. Depuis mi-février son état s'est aggravé.

Aujourd'hui j'apprends que je ne suis pas compatible et mon troisième frère non plus. Nous attendons les résultats des analyses concernant notre frère aîné.

Yves est toujours en chambre stérile et doit être transfusé quasi quotidiennement car sa moelle ne produit plus de globules blancs et rouges, ni plaquettes. Son état risque d'empêcher le cycle de chimiothérapie qui devait reprendre lundi. Il s'alimente très difficilement.

Ne sachant pas encore si notre frère aîné sera compatible pour faire don d'un peu de sa moelle à Yves, je lance un appel à ceux qui seraient prêts à s'engager à donner leur moelle pour sauver Yves.

Je lance cet appel sans avoir consulté le corps médical et sans en avoir parlé à mon frère. Mais il lit de temps à autres ce blog.

Si vous êtes prêts à vous engager pour cet acte solidaire, fraternel et humaniste, envoyez-moi un courriel en indiquant comme objet : Yves et en me laissant vos coordonées afin que je puisse vous contacter si mon frère aîné n'était pas compatible et si la greffe était nécessaire.

Les analyses sont assez longues, car des mises en culture sont nécessaires (4 semaines environ). Par contre il suffit d'un prélèvement de 35 ml de sang pour les mener. Ce prélèvement devant être effectué dans un Etablissement français du sang.

Je vous dois à tous, qui m'avez témoigné votre soutien, de vous informer de la suite des évènements.

Yves a accepté un traitement expérimental. Il est le quatrième à l'accepter, s'il peut faire progresser la science tout en se guérissant c'est TOP ! J'approuve son choix. J'ai l'ordonnance en poche pour aller faire les analyses de compatibilité de don à la Salpétrière. Je vais y aller très vite, même si l'allogreffe n'est envisagée, qu'en dernier recours, vers juin 2009.

Mon frère est un homme exceptionnel, car cette forme de myélopathie est excessivement rare (1 humain sur 16.000.000 est susceptible de la contracter selon les probabilités). Je blague, mais ce qui est exceptionnel, c'est l'énergie et l'humour avec lesquels Yves fait front à la maladie.

Nous passerons Noël ensemble, nous ne changeons et ne changerons rien à nos habitudes. Nous fêterons en famille avec nos parents, enfants et petits enfants (quelle chance nous avons), ce Noël. Nous n'oublierons pas qu'il y a un an, nous perdions un cousin à cause de l'amiante. Nous n'oublierons pas que le dernier frère de notre Môman (ça c'est pour Hypos et Nini: la façon de l'écrire et de le dire), est décédé, il y a un mois, d'un cancer qu'il a combattu pendant vingt ans... laissant Maman la seule survivante de cette famille d'immigrés italiens.

Mais nous serons joyeux car nous croyons en l'âme humaine (n'y voyez aucune connotation religieuse), nous croyons, Yves comme moi, que l'Homme est capable du meilleur comme du pire. Mais qu'il est de notre devoir de travailler à ce que l'Etre Humain s'améliore et privilégie le meilleur au pire...

Nos enfants ont commencé de prendre la relève. Nos petits enfants n'y manqueront pas. Tout cela pour mettre en place une société plus juste. Ce n'est pas gagné, mais il faut nous battre pour cela...

Les boules ! Il faut dire qu'il y a eu de nombreux décès en ce début d'énnée 2008... et celui d'Yves Saint Laurent mérite bien d'être signalé, du moins pour moi car je peux désormais dire que j'entre dans le milieu de la mode à mon échelle... Encore un Grand qui part, ne disons pas mourir car les légendes ne meurent jamais.

Saint Yves est un prêtre et juge mort en 1303

Fils d’un pauvre chevalier breton, Yves Hélori de Kermartin devient orphelin et part faire ses études à Paris puis termine son droit canonique à Orléans et revient en Bretagne. Il devient Official de Rennes c'est-à-dire juge ecclésiastique de l’évêque. En 1284 il rentre à Tréguier son pays natal et tout en restant Official, il se fait ordonner prêtre et se charge d’une paroisse.

Son activité est débordante, il est un bon orateur et il multiplie les sermons, il est juge ecclésiastique à l’official de Tréguier, il accepte aussi de devenir avocat auprès des tribunaux laïques pour y aider les pauvres à plaider. Son désintéressement étonne tout le monde « advocatus erat, sed non latro, res mirabilis populo » ce qui signifie « Il était avocat, mais pas voleur, chose admirable pour les gens ». C’est donc sa générosité et sa charité qui le rendent si populaire. Six ans avant sa mort, en 1297, il démissionne de sa charge d'Official, et il se retire pour prier et accueillir les pauvres au Minihy, son lieu de naissance.

Dès sa mort tous envisagent sa canonisation, son procès a lieu en 1330 et les actes qui nous sont restés permettent de bien le connaître (comme pour Jeanne d’Arc). Ci-contre peinture de Jacopo di Empoli, Saint Yves et les pauvres plaideurs, Florence

La sortie du livre d’Yves Bertrand, « Je sais rien mais je dirais tout » pourrait faire l’effet d’une bombe médiatique. L’ancien Directeur Central des RG de 1992 à 2003 a vu passer plus de 10 ministres de l’Intérieur avant que sa maison ne soit finalement dissoute ou fondue par l'actuel occupant de l'Elysée.

On nous annonce néanmoins du croustillant sur certaines manipulations.

Je ne sais rien... mais je dirai (presque) tout, d'Yves Bertrand. Plon, 18,50 euros (en librairie jeudi).

2007 Je m’inscris, je vote !

Tout le mois de décembre, les Jeunes UDF de la Somme ont incité les jeunes picards à s’inscrire sur les listes électorales. En France, on estime à 3 millions le nombre de citoyens non inscrits sur les listes électorales, dont plus de 23 000 à Amiens.

Au coeur du dispositif, le site Internet www.e-democratie.fr, qui rappellait brièvement comment s’inscrire sur les listes électorales avant le 31 décembre 2006, et qui relayait les initiatives d’autres collectifs de la Somme , comme celui de Rachid Sallali, “Aujourd’hui je m’inscris, demain je vote !” Lors de leurs tractages, ou lors de leur café-débat du 9 décembre au café Le Folie’s place du Colvert, les Jeunes UDF de la Somme ont pu ressentir l’émergence d’une réelle conscience politique, même des plus jeunes.

« Ça ne sert à rien de voter »

“Le second tour de l’élection présidentielle de 2002 et la crise de novembre 2005 ont constitué de véritables électrochocs” confiait l’un des membres du collectif “Aujourd’hui je m’inscris, demain je vote”. Mais les jeunes n’en restent pas moins méfiants vis à vis du personnel politique, qu’ils jugent impuissants face aux défis de notre monde. “Notre principale préoccupation est l’emploi, témoignait un jeune du quartier nord d’Amiens. Mais l’emploi, ce ne sont pas les politiques, mais les entreprises !”

Dans une interview qu’il accordait sur notre site Internet, Jean-Yves Bourgois, l’adjoint au maire d’Amiens chargé du secteur rive-droite, lançait un appel à la responsabilisation de chacun : “Ceux qui croient que la politique ne peut rien pour eux se résignent et se trompent ! La honte, c’est de ne rien faire ; la classe, c’est d’essayer des choses difficiles ! Sur le terrain, je vois ce qui marche. Il faut s’en inspirer et croire en l’avenir. Etre citoyen, finalement, c’est contribuer à construire la société que l’on veut”. Le message est clair : aux urnes citoyens ! En 2007, les Jeunes UDF de la Somme seront présents pour apporter à tous les jeunes l'information nécessaire sur le projet de leur parti pour la France. Nous appellons les autres formations politiques à faire de même !

NATURE Des chasseurs sachant chasser

Conseiller général du canton d’Abbeville Sud, Yves Butel a été député européen de 1999 à 2004. Il reste avant tout le Président des Fédérations de Chasseurs de la Somme et de la Picardie. Rencontre avec celui qui revendique un rôle écologique aux chasseurs.

Projections : On oppose souvent la chasse et l’environnement. En organisant la Fête de la Chasse et de la Nature en août dernier, vous revendiquiez un autre rôle ?

Y.B : Un rôle de gardiens de la nature. Les chasseurs profitent de la nature, en y opérant ce qu’on appelle des « prélèvements. » Mais nous rendons autant à Dame Nature qu’on ne lui prend. Une nature qui ne serait pas entretenue, à laquelle on ne prêterait pas attention, serait vouée à la désertification. Nous n’avons pas le droit de laisser la nature sans soins. C’est peut-être notre différence avec les écologistes purs et durs. Par exemple, un marais qu’on laisse se boiser perd tout son caractère de zone humide.

J’ai la responsabilité de 28000 chasseurs dans la Somme. Je m’efforce de leur faire passer un message de prélèvement raisonnable, et même de développement durable. Quand j’étais au Parlement européen, j’ai parfois eu de grandes discussions avec Daniel Cohn-Bendit. Il me disait que lui, la chasse, il n’en avait « rien à foutre. » La solution, je pense, est plutôt dans le partage de la nature. Tout le monde doit pouvoir en profiter, à sa manière. Pour certains, il s’agit de se promener à pied ou en vélo, pour d’autres de chasser. L’important est de se respecter les uns les autres. Les chasseurs font des efforts dans ce sens. Lors des grandes battues par exemples, nous publions un avis dans la presse. En été, sur la côte picarde, nous ne chassons qu’après 19h, pour laisser le littoral aux vacanciers la journée.

De plus, nous mettons à point d’honneur à réaliser le nettoyage de la Baie de Somme, des forêts, des champs ou des bois où nous chassons, à ramasser nos douilles (que nous pouvons maintenant recycler), ou les déchets de toutes sortes. Nous travaillons parfois directement avec Picardie Nature, car en définitive nous avons les mêmes objectifs. A la différence que nous mobilisons beaucoup plus de monde. Lors d’un week-end de nettoyage, c’est 2000 personnes que nous envoyons sur le terrain. La Fête de la Chasse était l’occasion d’échanger avec le public. Pour prouver que nous étions capables de communiquer sur nos activités, y compris la défense de notre terroir et de nos traditions.

Le week-end des 26 et 27 août 2006, la Fête de la Chasse et de la Nature a rassemblé, sur l’esplanade de la Hotoie à Amiens, plus de 120 exposants, peintres, artisans, éleveurs de chiens, vendeurs de matériel cygénétique, paysans, restaurateurs... De nombreuses activités étaient prévues, comme des démonstrations de chiens ou de rapaces, et même un défilé de mode spécial chasse. Plus de 35000 visiteurs ont été accueillis sur les deux jours.

Les chasseurs ont-ils la capacité de fédérer le grand public sur leurs problématiques, à la manière par exemple d’un Nicolas Hulot sur le développement durable ?

Les chasseurs ont bien compris qu’ils devaient être irréprochables. Notamment auprès des autorités. Quand j’appelle le Préfet par exemple, il me reçoit dans les 24 heures. Par notre sérieux, nous parvenons à être écoutés. Si nous avons été crédibles sur l’épisode de la grippe aviaire, c’est parce que nous avons accepté de jouer un rôle de vigies de la nature, en surveillant les oiseaux migrateurs, en en baguant certains, et même en finançant des recherches scientifiques sur le terrain, pour notre part au Sénégal. Cela nous a coûté plusieurs dizaines de milliers d’euros. C’est notre contribution à la protection de la nature. Et nous entendons bien le faire savoir. Reste, ensuite, à savoir qui pourrait être la figure nationale capable de sensibiliser les Français au rôle et aux problématiques de la chasse. Nous cherchons encore…

Des politiques de tous bords s’intéressent quand même aux chasseurs. Pensez-vous que c’est pour leur discours ou pour leur potentiel électoral ?

Aux élections européennes de 1999, la liste des chasseurs était arrivée en tête dans la Somme , avec 27% des voix, devant les socialistes qui atteignaient 16%. Nous sommes un mouvement important dans le département, et je reconnais y avoir largement contribué. On a su défaire un député [en 2002, Vincent Peillon, député socialiste sortant de la 3e circonscription, paie le prix de son alliance avec les Verts au profit de Jérôme Bignon, UMP]. Cependant, à part notre opposition aux Verts, il existe chez les chasseurs des sensibilités très différentes. Notons que nous sommes quand même très largement eurosceptiques. En tout cas de l’Europe actuelle. Je ne comprends pas pourquoi elle s’occupe de notre camembert ou de notre foie gras. Les priorités sont, à mon sens, totalement inversées. C’est pour cela que nous siégions à côté des villiéristes au Parlement européen.

Au passage, je tiens à souligner que je me désolidarise totalement des dernières positions de Philippe de Villiers. Il déraille complètement. Par certains aspects, il est plus extrémiste encore que le Front National. Je n’ai pas encore donné ma signature pour l’élection présidentielle. Peut-être Chevènement s’il s’était présenté…

Nous pensions que votre parrainage irait à Frédéric Nihous, le candidat de Chasse, Pêche, Nature et Traditions. Ce n’est pas lui la grande figure nationale qu’attendent les chasseurs ?

J’ai été l’écouter, récemment, lors de son passage dans la Somme. Ce qui m’ennuie, c’est qu’il va tristement faire 1%... Et que de ce fait, on estimera que les chasseurs représentent 1% des Français… Mais, pour répondre à votre question précédente, je crois que la chasse c’est bien, c’est notre passion, c’est notre vie… mais qu’il ne faut pas oublier tout le reste. On ne peut pas, dans les conditions actuelles en tout cas, se contenter de ne voter que pour cela. Ça peut être un vote « défouloir », dans des conditions et des échéances qui le permettent, comme aux européennes de 1999. Le maître mot, aujourd’hui, pour 2007, c’est faire preuve de bon sens.
