Nicolas SARKOZY à la TV hier soir

Nicolas SARKOZY était interviewé hier soir par Claire Chazal, Laurent Delahousse, François Langlet et Jean-Marc Sylvestre. Cette interview était diffusé sur TF1, France 2, BFM TV, I télé, LCI et LCP, et a été suivie par 16,6 millions de téléspectateurs.

Nicolas SARKOZY a indiqué être "là en tant que chef de l'Etat". Il a refusé de se prononcer sur son eventuelle candidature à l'éelction présidentielle. Il a simplement dit qu'il a un "rendez-vous avec les français" et qu'il ne se "dérobera pas". Il a également mis en garde François HOLLANDE en rappelant qu'il a lui-même vu "les ravages de l'arrogance" en 1995 en voyant Edourd Balladur déjà élu alors que l'élection n'avait pas encore eu lieu.

Le président de la République a annoncé des mesures pour réduire le chômage et répondre au problème du logement :

Il a d'abord annoncé la mise en place d'une "TVA anti-délocalisation" : il s'agit d'augmenter le taux de TVA normal de 1,6 point : il passera donc de 19,6% à 21,2%. Cette hausse de la TVA va permettre d'exonerer les entreprises de charges familiales. Les coûts pesant sur le travail vont donc diminuer, les entreprises pourront donc embaucher d'avantage. Le président "ne croit en rien à une hausse des prix" grâce à la concurrence. De plus, la TVA a été augmenté il y a quelques année de 3% en Allemagne et les prix se sont maintenus.
Le président a également annoncé une hausse de 2 points de la CSG sur les revenus financiers.
Comme les acteurs de la finance se sont "comportés de façon complètement folle" et sont "responsable de la crise", Nicolas SARKOZY va créer une taxe de 0,1% sur les transactions financières, ce qui rapportera 1 milliard d'euros à l'Etat. Nicolas SARKOZY créera cette taxe malgré les "pressions des secteurs bancaire et financier" qu'il subit.
Il faut également "tourner la page des 35 heures" : il y aura donc des négociations entre patronat et syndicats au sein de chaque entreprises pour aboutir à des accords "compétitivité-emploi". Concrètement, lorsqu'une entreprise est en difficultée, cela permettra au patronat et aux syndicats de se mettre d'accord entre soit maintenir les salaires et licencier des salariés, soit garder tous les salariés et baisser les salaires.
Pour le chef de l'Etat, les entreprises "ne s'ouvrent pas assez aux jeunes", c'est pourquoi, il va créer une loi imposant aux entreprises de plus de 250 salariés d'embaucher au moins 5% d'apprentis. Les sanctions contre les entreprises qui ne respecteront pas cette loi seront "doublées" parcequ'il est "inacceptable" que les entreprises préfèrent payer des amendes plutôt que d'embaucher des jeunes.
Les entreprises étant au coeur de l'économie et n'ayant pas suffisamment accès au crédit, "une banque de l'industrie" sera créée avec 1 milliard d'euros de fonds propres.
Enfin, concernant le logement, le président a décidé "d'augmenter de 30% la capacité de construction sur un terrain". Cela va permettre d'augmenter l'offre de biens immobiliers, ce qui va engendrer une baisse des prix à la location et à l'achat. Interrogé sur la proposition de François HOLLANDE d'encadrer les loyer, le président a répondu que cela "n'a marché nul-part".

Nicolas SARKOZY est s'est également réjoui que "les résultats du déficit soient bien meilleurs que prévu", ce qui montre que "les efforts des français ont porté leurs fruits" et que la "crise s'apaise".

Il est également revenu sur la dégradation de la note de la France par l'agence Standard and Poors en rappelant que l'agence "Moodys qui est le double de S&P a confirmé le triple A de la France" et en insistant sur le fait que la France emprunte aujourd'hui "à un taux historiquement bas".

Interrogé sur l'idée de la gauche de revenir à la retraite à 60 ans, Nicolas SARKOZY a déclaré que c'est "une folie", un "mensonge" et que cela "conduirait le pays à la ruine".

Le chef de l'Etat a confirmé qu'il n'y aurait plus de hausse d'impôt, et donc pas de 3ème plan de rigueur. Il s'est par ailleurs félicité que la réforme d'éxonération des heures supplémentaires qu'il a mis en place au début de son quinquennat, ait bénéficié à 9 millions de français l'année dernière, "c'est du pouvoir d'achat en plus" a-t-il insisté.

I have to say, I find it a bit indecent and completely disrespectful for the miserable people who struggle to eat everyday (they might not even care (nor know) about it but still).

1° - résilier le contrat d'abonnement TV à échéance

2° - résilier, avant l'échéance un abonnement TV pour motif légitime

Vous bénéficiez d'un motif légitime pour résilier votre abonnement TV avant la fin du contrat car vous êtes licencié, ou le souscripteur est décédé etc...

Il suffit d'envoyer une lettre de résiliation anticipée de l'abonnement TV pour motif légitime en recommandée avec accusé de réception à votre fournisseur internet TV. Comme indiqué ci dessus les liens ne formalise pas le destinataire, à vous de l'intégrer selon votre opérateur.

3° - résilier de manière anticipée un abonnement TV conclu pour plus de 12 mois

Si votre contrat d'abonnement est conclu pour une durée supérieure à 12 mois, vous pouvez résilier le contrat de manière anticipée.

Mais quand le mari de Cora est retrouvé mort dans les poubelles et qu'un natif de L.A se met à courtiser Lily à la française, la vie prend des tours inattendus au 500, Rossmore Avenue... Une comédie délurée et subtile, dans l'esprit des Chroniques de San Francisco, où s'expriment avec justesse les fantaisies de l'âme humaine, la solitude et le doute.

Comme l'indique la jaquette, ce texte est tout à fait dans l'esprit des Chroniques de San Francisco mais quitte à choisir, autant opter pour Armistead Maupin qui nous offre une plus grande qualité et surtout une sacrée quantité puisqu'il a récemment fait paraître les tomes 7 et 8 de cette superbe saga.

Ici, l'on met un peu de temps à se plonger dans le texte et le dénouement est de fait un peu rapide. Pour autant, la lecture est très agréable, les personnages attachants et les intrigues dignes des meilleures séries télé sauce Melrose Place.

Farm Truck et autres potagers urbains

Quand je suis seule à la maison, que je ne suis pas occupée à lire ou à ranger, j'en profite pour regarder la chaîne Ushuaïa tv.

Monsieur n'est pas très fan des émissions et documentaires sur l'avenir de la planète, l'écologie, la nature, etc. Donc quand j'ai la télé à moi toute seule, j'en profite!!! ;-)

Dernièrement, j'ai vu un chouette documentaire: Farm Truck.

Aux Etats-Unis, un gars a eu l'idée de créer un potager mobile dans la benne de son vieux pick-up. Durant son voyage, il rencontre d'autres personnes qui ont également un potager urbain.

Un terrain de sport recouvert de terre sert désormais de potager communautaire.

Sur le toit d'un hangar, poussent désormais des fruits et des légumes.

Plus original, ce projet de potager hydroponique vertical placé à l'intérieur de l'habitation, derrière une fenêtre.

Quand on voit l'espace que représente les villes, les potagers urbains sont une excellente solution pour les citadins de plus en plus nombreux.

Et moi je n'ai qu'une envie, m'attaquer au jardin et créer mon petit potager ;-)

J’ai suivi cette émission passionnante. J’avais lu un bon article dans le journal La Croix du 4-11-11, mais je n’ai pas retrouvé la page sur le site : http://www.la-croix.com . Jeanne Ferney, titrait sa chronique télé, pour cette émission, « Le ‘’Tintin’’ de la littérature » (en référence à ce qui est dit dans le film de ce surnom donné amicalement à Erik Orsenna en raison de son goût du monde et des autres, de son enthousiasme). Elle relevait le rappel de l’émission de Bernard Pivot, Apostrophes, qui, en 1988, saluait Erik Orsenna pour (note la journaliste) «… le savoir inouï et la soif de connaissance dont débordent ses écrits », en disant, elle le cite, de l’œuvre d’Orsenna « C’est un éloge de la culture générale et presque de la culture inutile. » Culture inutile, répondait Erik Orsenna, oui : car les détails comptent, tout prend sens.

J’ai effectivement pu constater que le message que faisait passer Orsenna était, totalement, un très bel éloge de la curiosité. Celle qui nourrit une sorte de fringale insatiable de la rencontre des êtres et des lieux du monde. Celle d’un immense élan dans sa passion pour l’Afrique : car, dit-il « L’Afrique tisse des liens. En Europe je meurs du manque de liens. ». De la curiosité il dit « Celui qui est curieux soigne le monde », en s’appuyant, parlant dans une classe à de jeunes enfants, sur l’étymologie. (Quelle bonne idée ! Bien sûr… ! En latin ‘’curiosus’’ signifie ‘’qui a soin de’’). Aux enfants il fait chercher des mots qui commencent par ‘’cur’’, les laisse trouver ‘’cure’’, ‘’curatif’’… et, alors, pouvoir entendre - et comprendre - sa conception du regard curieux, de l’être curieux. La curiosité, pour lui (il le dit ailleurs dans un des moments du documentaire) débouche forcément dans la nécessaire transversalité, dont il fait donc l’éloge aussi. Car comment être vraiment curieux et ouvert si on reste enfermé dans une seule spécialité, un seul rôle, une seule vie ? Ecrivain, parce que… «… je ne supporte pas d’avoir une seule vie ». Publier des livres, dit-il, lui donne aussi (ils se vendent) la liberté matérielle de faire des enquêtes, en prenant tout le temps nécessaire à la « rencontre » de l’autre et d’ailleurs, et de publier ensuite librement les résultats de ses recherches. « Etre écrivain pour cette liberté »…

Bel hommage mérité, et très réussi, que ce documentaire…

Télé réalité politique : des larmes qui sèchent rapidement

Les primaires socialistes ont été très bien orchestrées médiatiquement.

On avait eu la semaine dernière les larmes télévisées de Ségolène Royal après son résultat très médiocre, puis jeudi soir son invitation à un journal télévisé pour déclarer son soutien à son ex compagnon.

On pensait avoir tout vu, mais Ségolène a réussi ce soir à faire de nouveau la Une des médias, en étant la première à se féliciter en direct sur toutes les télévisions du succès "de notre candidat François Hollande qui arrive nettement en tête".

Voilà donc celle qui était persuadée d'être au second tour, mais qui avait fini 4ème du premier tour avec moins de 10 % des votants, qui a réussi à se présenter en moins de 8 jours comme la porte-parole du gagnant !

On savait Ségolène très ambitieuse, à ce rythme, ne va-t-elle maintenant pas chercher à se rapprocher de son ancien compagnon pour essayer de devenir la 1ère femme de France, qu'elle a depuis longtemps rêver d'être ?

Je savais déjà que le mercredi matin, pour certaine, c'est le moment de la cure de dessins animés et autres programmes pour décérébrés (après avoir ingurgité un de ses films préférés!) (oui, pour d'autre, c'est plus sutudieux comme programme!)...

Et si je connaissais déjà la piètre qualité des programmes télévisés, et que je ne souhaite pas ici revenir sur la "télé poubelle" qui nie qu'il y a un public pour tout... je m'interroge tout de même sur un point:

Quand la fonction "sous-titrage pour malentendants" reste activée, je m'amuse souvent du décallage de "traduction" entre ce qui est dit et ce qui est écrit... Par contre, quand est inscrit sur l'écran [ bande musicale du french cancan] je me dis qu'il en a de la chance, celui qui n'entend plus mais qui a eu le temps de mémoriser, du temps où il entendait encore, les quelques mesures du french cancan et qui, en plus, a su, à l'époque, que c'était le french cancan!!!...

Et puis, pour les autres, bah je ne sais pas... s'il y a un public pour tout qui interdit d'évoquer la "télé poubelle" , il faut croire qu'il reste des programmes qui ne sont pas tous publics et qui passent le mercredi matin! Alors?! Elle est pô belle la vie?!

State Museum of Pennsylvania Announces Finalists for Annual Art of the State Exhibition

HARRISBURG, Pa., June 7, 2011 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The "Art of the State: Pennsylvania 2011" exhibition, showcasing the talent, creativity and diversity of Pennsylvania's established and emerging artists, will open to the public on Sunday, June 19, at The State Museum of Pennsylvania.

First-, second- and third-place honors are awarded in painting, photography, sculpture, craft and works on paper. Cash awards for each category are $500 for first place, $300 for second and $200 for third. In addition, the William D. Davis Memorial Award for Drawing, the Rose Roy Memorial Award, and The State Museum of Pennsylvania Purchase Award are selected.

The 44th annual exhibit runs through Sept. 11 and includes 135 works of art by 133 artists from 35 counties. This year's exhibit received 1,933 entries from 727 artists.

The exhibit is co-sponsored by The State Museum and The Greater Harrisburg Arts Council, which present over $5,000 in cash awards to the winners.

The State Museum of Pennsylvania, located at 300 North Street, is one of 25 historic sites and museums administered by Pennsylvania Historical and Museum Commission as part of the Pennsylvania Trails of History. It is the commonwealth's official museum, holding 4.5 million objects in its collections. The museum's permanent and temporary exhibits cover 100,000 square feet and feature Pennsylvania's social, industrial and economic history, decorative, fine and industrial arts, and archaeology, zoology and paleontology.

Ex-IMF chief may use tried, tricky consent defense

With his DNA discovered on the woman who accused him of trying to rape her and forcing her to perform oral sex, former International Monetary Fund chief Dominique Strauss-Kahn may employ a consensual sex defense that poses risks for defendants and prosecutors alike.

Strauss-Kahn has shed little public light on his account of what happened between him and a housekeeper at a luxury New York City hotel two weeks ago. But his lawyer has hinted at strategy, saying he doesn't expect the evidence will show a forcible encounter.

If Strauss-Kahn ultimately acknowledges sexual contact with the woman, jurors will be left to analyze a tricky "he-said, she-said" confrontation, legal experts say.

"They're really difficult cases because, by their very nature, nobody else is there," said Brenda Smith, an American University Washington College of Law professor who has studied sexual violence. Even DNA or other forensic evidence might establish sexual contact but still not prove an attack, "so it really is the credibility of the complainant and the defendant, and also the facts and information that each side can marshal to support their version of what occurred."

For now, Strauss-Kahn is under house arrest in a Manhattan apartment on a total of $6 million in bond and cash bail, facing attempted rape and other charges. At the time of his May 14 arrest, the 62-year-old economist and diplomat led the powerful, loan-making IMF and was considered a leading contender to challenge French President Nicolas Sarkozy.

Prosecutors say he chased down the cleaner in a penthouse suite, groped her, tried to pull down her pantyhose and forced her to perform oral sex.

The 32-year-old woman immediately told hotel staffers and then police, providing "a compelling and unwavering story" supported by findings from a physical exam, Manhattan assistant district attorney John "Artie" McConnell told a judge last week. Strauss-Kahn's DNA was matched Monday with material on the maid's uniform shirt, two people familiar with the investigation told The Associated Press.

The woman's attorney, Jeffrey Shapiro, has said "there is no way in which there is any aspect of this event which could be construed consensual in any manner."

But Strauss-Kahn lawyer Benjamin Brafman has suggested that might be exactly how his camp construes it.

"The forensic evidence, we believe, will not be consistent with a forcible encounter," he said in court last week. He and Strauss-Kahn's other attorneys have declined to elaborate and wouldn't comment on the case Tuesday.

Strauss-Kahn insists he is innocent, telling colleagues in his IMF resignation letter last week he would "devote all my strength, all my time, and all my energy" to proving it.

In general, consent is legally defined as positively cooperating in and understanding the act in question, said Robin Sax, a former Los Angeles sex-crimes prosecutor now in private practice.

There have been some famous defense successes. Accused of raping a woman in 1991 at his family's estate in Palm Beach, Fla., William Kennedy Smith was acquitted of sexual battery. He'd met his accuser at a nightclub during a night out on the town with an uncle, the late U.S. Sen. Ted Kennedy.

Smith testified that the sex was consensual. He said he "felt sorry" for his accuser and acknowledged it was "foolish and irresponsible" for him to have unprotected sex with a woman he barely knew, but said she was equally foolish. Jurors took about an hour to acquit him.

To some, such arguments can look like trying to sully the accuser, a potential pitfall for a defense if jurors find it objectionable.

"That's always the classic claim, that you're blaming the victim, but that's said by people who don't understand," Smith's lawyer, Roy Black, said in an interview Tuesday. "The victim may not be on trial, but her testimony, her accusation, is on trial."

A claim of consensual sex failed for boxer Mike Tyson, convicted in 1992 of raping an 18-year-old beauty pageant contestant. Tyson acknowledged having sex with the woman in an Indianapolis hotel room but said he didn't force her. His lawyer argued that the woman filed charges out of anger at how Tyson had treated her after the encounter.

"It was a tough case," the lead prosecutor, J. Gregory Garrison, recalled Tuesday. Especially in acquaintance-rape cases, with no third parties who can describe what happened, "it's a question of persuasion."

The woman's torn clothes were shown during the trial, and a medical expert testified that the woman had sustained internal injuries that were inconsistent with consensual sex. But some of the key moments Garrison remembers were less about what was said than what was seen, as when audible gasps arose in the courtroom as the petite woman entered the courtroom to face the chiseled heavyweight champ. Tyson ultimately served about three years in prison.

It is usually difficult, if not impossible, to make a case without the accuser's testimony, and "victims often don't want to go through the nightmare that may result," said Corey Rayburn Yung, a professor at the John Marshall Law School in Chicago who studies sex crimes.

The sexual assault case against NBA star Kobe Bryant was dropped after the woman told prosecutors she couldn't take part in a trial. She had accused Bryant of raping her in a hotel room in Vail, Colo. Bryant apologized for his "behavior that night and for the consequences she has suffered," while insisting the sex was consensual.

Prosecutors there said they were confident they could convict Bryant, but only with her cooperation.

"There are a lot of misconceptions by people. They think women make up sex assaults," Mark Hurlbert, the prosecutor in Bryant's case, said Tuesday. "I don't know why ... because it's such a traumatic process, not only the attack but what the system does to these victims. The person who comes forward to testify is pretty sure of herself."

Prosecutors and defense lawyers will scour for other evidence and indicators to back their side's version of events. They might look at forensic evidence and injuries, if any; whether the accuser reported the alleged incident immediately, and how consistently he or she related it; how the defendant behaved in the immediate aftermath; whether the accuser is seeking money in a lawsuit.

"He says he didn't do it, she says he did, so now whom do you believe?" said Black, Smith's lawyer."The only thing you can do is look at all of the little pieces of information, all the disparate things that at first don't look important."

Coming to a television near you: The Bible, from Mark Burnett

History has big plans to make must-see-TV out of the Bible.

The project, which comes from reality producer Mark Burnett, will air as a five-part, 10-hour scripted docu-drama with live-action and state-of-the-art CGI. Given both its scale and production value, "The Bible" won't appear on History's schedule until 2013.

"This is probably the most important book in mankind, regardless of your beliefs or religious affiliation," History president and general manager Nancy Dubuc tells The Hollywood Reporter. "This series will bring the historical stories of the Bible to life for a new generation."

The series, which was conceived by Burnett and his wife, actress Roma Downey, will set out to tell the tome's stories, including Noah's Ark, the Exodus and the crucifixion and resurrection of Jesus.

"We spend a lot of time talking about this book, and probably not enough time knowing what's in it," Dubuc says. "One of the most important things about history is knowing the stories of history."

This is not the first time History has ventured into religious territory. Just last year, the cable network aired a documentary entitled "The Real Face of Jesus?"

But rather than approach the genre as an investigation or mystery as the net has done in the past, "The Bible" will be a more straightforward interpretation.

This is something of a reunion for Burnett and Dubuc, who worked together on the 2009 History series "Expedition Africa." Dubuc tells THR she is eager to be back in business with the man she calls "one of the most visual storytellers out there."

News of the project comes more than a month after Burnett joined forces with Hearst Corp. to form a 50:50 media, a production and events-based joint venture. As part of the deal, Hearst, a co-owner of History parent A&E Television Networks, acquired a substantial stake in Burnett's existing production business.

Cards' La Russa has shingles, will miss road trip

Cardinals manager Tony La Russa will miss the rest of St. Louis' road trip after being diagnosed with shingles.

La Russa had tests Tuesday at the Mayo Clinic, whose physicians consulted with Cardinals doctors and decided it would be best for the manager to rest and allow his medication to take effect.

St. Louis started a series at Chicago on Tuesday night, with the road trip wrapping up Sunday at Cincinnati. It was uncertain whether La Russa would definitely rejoin the team next Monday for the start of its four-game home series against Philadelphia and Houston.

Bench coach Joe Pettini will run the Cardinals while La Russa is away. The 66-year-old La Russa is in his 16th season as St. Louis manager.

Pettini said La Russa's condition reached a point where something had to be done.

"He gutted it out for the games. But before the game every day you come in and ask `How you doing skipper?' and you're hoping to get a little better answer. But every day he would shake his head and say, `Not any better, not any better,'" Pettini said.

"So he's been in agony and we're very concerned and we're hoping with this physical out at the clinic in Arizona that it's going to figure out what needs to be done," Pettini said. "If he needs to take some time, take the time or whatever."

La Russa's problem was initially identified in mid-April as conjunctivitis, an inflammation commonly known as pink eye. But last week he called his illness a viral infection.

The entire right side of La Russa's face was swollen for a while, although La Russa continued to hit fungoes at practice until the last homestand.

Cardinals general manager John Mozeliak said La Russa had previously scheduled a physical at the clinic in Arizona.

"But obviously, since he's been diagnosed with shingles, he's also having that reviewed and meeting with a few different specialists just to see if there's any way to relieve his discomfort," Mozeliak said.

The illness appeared to improve cosmetically last week, but La Russa said it was still an effort to keep his right eye open.

"I'm not doing much," La Russa said before a game then. "I had to shut it down because I just can't hang in there. It's hard to hit one-eyed."

La Russa said managing games has been easier because of the adrenaline involved.

"You handle that better than you do before and after," he said. "The game is not that tough, it just doesn't bother you as much."

Cardinals shortstop Ryan Theriot said La Russa has been in obvious pain for a while.

"He's been struggling. People don't even realize. This has been a long ordeal for him," Theriot said. "And he's really battled through it and pushed through it. He's been a trouper, man. But he's got to get well. He's been hurting, he really has been."

The report is based on a comprehensive Life Cycle Assessment study conducted by Five Winds International in collaboration with PE Americas. The life cycle stages included in the study address raw material extraction, production and transportation of all materials involved in the manufacturing process, manufacturing of wall components, packaging, installation, maintenance and end-of-life treatment.The LCA excludes the building use phase impacts such as heating and cooling; however, all wall assemblies were designed to conform to the minimum prescriptive requirement in accordance with Proposed Addendum bb to ASHRAE Standard 90.1-2007 Zone 5. The final report underwent external, independent critical review and fully complies with the ISO 14040/14044 standards.

According to the Life Cycle Assessment, 3” FWDS has a better overall environmental profile in most areas than precast concrete or ACM.Precast concrete has a significantly larger potential for global warming, acidification and smog; and ACM has a significantly larger potential for global warming, non-renewable primary energy demand, acidification and smog potential.

Une semaine après la manifestation du Front National, la droite nationaliste s'est une nouvelle fois donnée rendez-vous dimanche à Paris pour célébrer Jeanne d'Arc. Près d'un millier de personnes sont parties de la place de la Madeleine avec en tête de cortège des familles royalistes sous les drapeaux jaune et bleu à fleur de lys et scandant « Le Roi à Paris, A bas la République ».

S'est élancé derrière eux un cortège plus fourni de militants d'extrême droite venus de la Nouvelle droite populaire, Terre et Peuple, Parti de la France de Carl Lang ou du Mouvement national Républicain fondé par Bruno Mégret. Le Renouveau Français et le GUD étaient aussi présents. « Bleu blanc rouge, la France aux Français » ou « Islam Hors d'Europe » scandaient certains, « Nous ne nous soumettrons pas à la dictature du mondialisme cosmopolite », pouvait-on lire sur un tract appelant également à refuser « de servir de chair à canon aux intérêts américains et israéliens ».

Contre manifestation d'extrême gauche

Tout en noir, jusqu'aux capuches et aux foulards recouvrant une partie de leur visage, quelques dizaines de « nationalistes autonomes » garnissaient les rangs, non loin du mouvement Troisième voie de Serge Ayoub, l'ancien chef des skinheads de Paris. Ses militants arboraient l'une des devises des fascistes italiens: « Croire, obéir, combattre ».

Au même moment et à quelques avenues de là, environ 300 militants d'extrême gauche, selon la police, manifestaient pour protester contre ce rassemblement en scandant: « le fascisme c'est la gangrène, on l'élimine ou on en crève ». Ils souhaitaient se rendre au point d'arrivée du défilé d'extrême droite, mais les forces de l'ordre leur ont barré la route.

This is one that simply was not known in nature until we found it here," Kampf told LiveScience. "That's pretty dramatic."

The meteorite containing krotite is called NWA 1934 CV3 carbonaceous chondrite. Chondrites arethat scientists think were remnants shed from the original building blocks of planets. Most meteorites found on Earth fit into this group.

The mineral, a compound of calcium, aluminum and oxygen, needs temperatures of 2,732 degrees F (1,500 degrees C) to form, supporting the idea that it was created as the solar nebula condensed and the planets, including Earth, were formed, the researchers say.

The tiny mineral sample – just 0.2 inches (4 millimeters) long – came from a grain in the meteorite dubbed "cracked egg" for its appearance. In addition to krotite, the cracked egg grain contains at least eight other minerals, one of which is new to science, the researchers say.

Studying this mineral and other components of the ancient meteorite are essential for understanding the origins of the solar system, the scientists say.

When meteors hit the ground they are called meteorites. Most are fragments of(space rocks that travel through the solar system), and others are mere cosmic dust shed by comets. Rare meteorites are impact debris from the surfaces of the moon and Mars.

"This meteorite likely came from an asteroid in the asteroid belt," leader researcher Chi Ma of Caltech told LiveScience.

Another ancient meteorite, this one discovered in Antarctica, also recently yielded a .

The fact that krotite forms at such high temperatures and low pressure make it likely it is one of the first minerals formed in the solar system.

The mineral is named after Alexander N. Krot, a cosmochemist at the University of Hawaii, in recognition of his significant contributions to the understanding of early solar-system processes.

The finding is detailed in the May-June issue of the journal American Mineralogist.

En ce moment, j’essaie d’initier TiNours à mes voyages dans le temps via les séries oubliées. Comme beaucoup de monde, j’ai été marqué dans mon enfance par certaines d’entre elles. Françaises aussi bien qu’américaines, d’ailleurs. C’est toujours très amusant de les revoir, parce qu’outre le « bain de jouvence » que nous font prendre, paradoxalement, les images vieillies, la musique un peu surannée, on a un regard plus décalé qu’à l’époque, à la fin des années 60, au début des années 70. Pour deux raisons : d’abord on n’est plus un enfant, donc les ficelles paraissent plus grosses. Ensuite, et c’est cela qui est encore plus intéressant, la vie, et surtout la représentation de la vie à l’écran ont changé.

« Mannix » avait été imaginé, au départ, en 1966, pour enchaîner à la télévision sur le succès qu’avait au cinéma la figure dui policier solitaire à la Humphrey Bogart, dans les films « noirs » (et en noir et blanc) des années 50. D’ailleurs, comme d’autres (‘Chapeau melon et bottes de cuir’, ‘Ma sorcière bien-aimée’ la série se situe à la charnière entre le passage du noir et blanc à la couleur. D’autre part, Mannix était aussi le précurseur de cette génération de flics indépendants qui firent fureur dans les années 70 : Mike Hammer, Magnum, et j’en passe.

Joe Mannix, incarné par Mike Connors, est donc un privé à Los Angeles, qui a pris son indépendance par rapport à ‘Intertect’, l’organisation dont il dépendait dans la première saison. Il a une secrétaire noire, jouée par Gail Fisher. Il est séduisant, têtu, et aime son autonomie. Malgré le milieu dans lequel il évolue, il n’est jamais cynique ni désabusé. Il conduit toujours de très belles voitures de sport. La série exploite à fond les thèmes chers à l’époque : flics pourris, avocats véreux, milliardaires excentriques, meurtres déguisés en suicides, coupables innocents, victimes de chantage, etc.

Ce que j’ai trouvé fascinant l’autre jour, en regardant certains épisodes avec TiNours, c’est donc ce « décalage » qui s’est instauré entre la représentation de ces enquêtes à l’écran, et celle qu’on en donne aujourd’hui, dans les nouvelles séries. La question n’est bien sûr pas de savoir si ce reflet est fidèle, mais de voir de quelle façon il a évolué. Je glisse sur le fait que les ordinateurs de l’époque sont mastodonesques, que Mannix brandit triomphalement une carte perforée de petits trous représentant son nom, et que les téléphones sur les bureaux tintinabulent joyeusement, à une époque où personne n’aurait eu l’idée de sortir son bip-bip portable de sa poche pour le coller à l’oreille. Ce qui est plus subtil, c’est l’attitude des acteurs : d’abord ils fument tous comme des pompiers (là encore, un héritage de Bogart ?), à l’extérieur et dans les bureaux, à croire qu’il n’y a qu’ainsi qu’on peut affirmer sa virilité. Ensuite, les femmes (dans les rôles de figurantes sans importance) ont toutes des têtes choucroutées de poupées Barbies (ça, passe encore, c’était la mode) mais surtout elles agissent comme telles : elles ont des voix de crécelle d’idiote du village, et elles agissent comme si elles avaient une cacahuète à la place du cerveau. Surtout, ce qui m’a le plus fait ouvrir de grands yeux, c’est que les mecs les traitent comme telles. Après une bagarre avec Mannix où un méchant s’est fait étendre au sol, sa petite amie se précipite sur lui en larmoyant « Chéri, il t’a fait mal ? » et lui sans répondre, la repousse si rageusement qu’elle tombe par terre, et Mannix ne la relève même pas ! Même de la part d’un méchant, c’est choquant. De nos jours, une scène pareille dans une série, ça ne passerait pas. Je n’arrive à imaginer la scène qu’avec une fille méchante et agressive, qui menacerait Mannix avec une kalashnikov, pendant que le méchant essuierait les traces d’ADN laissées dans l’appart, par négligence.

Ca semble venir de très très loin, ça fait terriblement vieillot, et pourtant, ça me donne l’impression d’avoir à nouveau cinq ans. C’est là tout le paradoxe.

Le plus grand plaisir, c’est le générique. Dans la lignée des « Mission impossible » et « Hawaii Police d’état ». Je ne m’en lasse pas !

With children who need transportation to school, sports, cub scouts, and the occasional trip to the park, it's virtually impossible to take a day off from driving. My wife just commented to me the other day that she felt like she spends all day driving around. And now with escalating gas prices, we had to find ways to conserve.

I initially took a look at my work schedule and realized I was able to do a lot more work from home, thus reducing the trips into my office. This gave at least one of our cars some respite from being used on a daily basis.

I've also heard various reports about the benefits of proper tire care adding to the fuel efficiency of a vehicle, so I began with getting new tires for the van. While I don't recommend getting new tires simply for saving on fuel expenses, our vehicle was in need of a new set. With the proper tread and inflation, creating less drag allows us to get a few more miles out of each tank of gas.

Our desire to reduce our fuel consumption also has warranted a change in our driving habits. It takes effort to be patient, but accelerating slow and steady utilizes much less fuel than taking off quickly to try to beat the car next to you to the merge. Patience is also required when driving on the highway to keep your speed down, but driving 62 mph versus 75 mph will reduce fuel consumption by about 15%. A good measure of this is to gauge how hard you are braking. If you need to use your brakes heavily, it probably means you are using too much gas in the first place.

As a native of Southern California, I love the sun and the warm weather. Even in the winter it's a blessing to be able to drive with the windows down and enjoy the fresh air. Yet I've learned that keeping windows rolled up, while on the highway especially, increases the aerodynamics of our vehicles, thus reducing our fuel consumption.

A final way we've learned to conserve fuel is to turn off the car while waiting to pick up the kids from school. Sitting with the car idling wastes much more fuel than starting the car up again. Most vehicles today, with modern fuel injection systems, actually use very little fuel when starting.

We may not save thousands of dollars, but with these small efforts, we have seen a reduction in our fuel bill of approximately 12% per month. And in this day and age, every little bit helps.

New Zealand quake toll 71, no more survivors found

New Zealand's earthquake death toll was confirmed at 71, but Prime Minister John Key said on Thursday that the country must expect that number to rise.

The 6.3-magnitude quake devastated Christchurch, the country's second-biggest city, and rescue teams combed through rubble for a second night under searchlights. Searchers found no more survivors from Tuesday's earthquake.

"We do have to brace ourselves that while the official toll is 71 that number will rise today and tomorrow," Key told Television 3.

The death toll was previously put at 75 but officials revised that. "We have currently in morgues across the city 71 people confirmed dead, we are aware there are other bodies but we haven't got a number on that," Civil Defense Minister John Carter told reporters.

He said early reports of up to 300 other people missing was speculation and it was not known how many were unaccounted for.

Carter said around 2,500 people have been injured, 164 seriously.

Police said they were still holding out hope that people were still alive in wrecked buildings.

"Experts tell me that there are pockets within a number of these buildings, and providing people haven't been crushed there's no reason that we will not get people out of there," shift commander Russell Gibson said.

However, he said signs were not good for finding anyone alive in a flattened building that housed a local television channel and an English language school, which had many Japanese students, with as many as 100 people still in the building.

TEETERING BUILDING

Rescue operations have focused on the city's central business district, which bore the brunt of the quake which struck early afternoon on Tuesday when streets and shops were filled with lunchtime crowds.

Fears that the 26-story Grand Chancellor Hotel, one of the city's tallest buildings, might collapse at any moment triggering a domino-effect with other unstable buildings has been hampering rescue efforts.

"It's incredibly dangerous...if it hits the ground it will create a significant shock wave," local mayor Bob Parker said.

The city has been shaken by more than 100 aftershocks since the initial magnitude 6.3 shake, bringing down more debris.

In the city center, roads were buckled, buildings toppled and large pools of water welled up from broken pipes and sewers.

In places, roads had collapsed into a milky, sand-colored lake beneath the surface, the result of Christchurch's sandy foundations mixing with subterranean water under the force of the quake. Officials call it "liquefaction" of the ground.

Investment bank J.P. Morgan has estimated that the quake could cost insurers $12 billion, while catastrophe modeling firm AIR Worldwide Estimates said the insurance industry faces damage claims of between NZ$5 billion ($3.5 billion) and NZ$11.5 billion ($8 billion).

Key on Wednesday said the estimates could neither be backed up or dismissed, but said the country could afford to rebuild the city.

INTERNATIONAL REINFORCEMENTS

Rescuers from the United States, Britain, Taiwan and Japan are expected to join the operation on Thursday. More than 1,000 workers were expected to comb though shattered Christchurch buildings on Thursday.

The new rescue teams would allow the search of wrecked buildings to be widened.

A national state of emergency has been declared and the central city has been under curfew with soldiers patrolling in armored personnel carriers.

Thousands of people spent a second night in emergency shelters set up in local schools, sports grounds, and at a race course. Fresh water supplies were being distributed from schools and portable toilets set up around the city as services were disrupted.

D-backs future ace Parker plots full-speed return

SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. – Of all the pitchers and catchers who began workouts for the Arizona Diamondbacks on Monday, probably none looms larger for the franchise's future than Jarrod Parker.

The 22-year-old right-hander is a non-roster invitee to the big club's training camp. By all accounts, his electric mid-90s fastball is intact after a year of rehabilitation following Tommy John surgery.

Parker knows his major league debut is coming soon. He may not crack the season-opening rotation, but sometime this season, probably in the first few months, he will get his chance to show whether the ultrahigh expectations are warranted.

After missing an entire season, Parker said his arm is as good as new.

"I feel like I did when I was healthy," he said after Monday's workout, "so it's definitely a good situation."

Parker was Arizona's No. 1 pick, the ninth selection overall, in the 2007 draft after going 12-0 with a 0.10 ERA and 116 strikeouts in 70 innings at Norwell High School in Ossian, Indiana. He was selected Indiana's Mr. Baseball on a team that went 35-0 and won the state title.

From the start in the Diamondbacks' organization, he had the look of an ace in the making.

With Class A South Bend in 2008, he went 12-5 in 24 starts with a 3.44 ERA and an eye-popping 117 strikeouts — compared with 33 walks — in 117 2-3 innings. The following season, he started at Class A Visalia, where he was 1-0 in four starts with 21 strikeouts — and four walks — in 19 innings. Promoted to Double-A Mobile, his record dipped to 4-6 with a 3.68 ERA but with 74 strikeouts in 78 1/3 innings.

Combined, that's 212 strikeouts in 215 innings.

But his second pro season ended in August 2009 because of elbow inflammation, and the decision was made for surgery. On Oct. 28, 2009, Dr. James Andrews took a piece of his hamstring and used it to rebuild the ligament in Parker's elbow.

Parker acknowledges he had some doubts about his future.

"That thought's there," he said, "but I put 110 percent into the rehab effort and the medical staff did an amazing job. ... It's such a successful surgery now. It's not as big a worry as there used to be."

The rehab was "real tedious," he said, but he had friends, family, the team doctors and players who had gone through the surgery to provide support.

"I wouldn't say it was devastating, just kind of a bump in the road," Parker said. "I was throwing, feeling good. It was a good season and I was starting to put some good starts together and it kind of happened. I sat back and looked at things and didn't take it for granted anymore."

General manager Kevin Towers said Parker will not be held back this spring.

"I think sometimes you can tend to coddle people too long," Towers said. "I mean, this guy's almost two years post-op. He threw very good in instructional ball. he's been working his tail off here in the offseason at Chase Field. He's a special pitcher. We're going to do what's right for him, but this guy's chomping at the bit."

Parker's fastball hit 97 mph in workouts last fall. In a two-inning instructional league appearance, he hit 95 mph 10 times, striking out three and walking one without allowing a hit.

Parker remains a longshot in what promises to be a spirited competition for the last two rotation spots on Arizona's opening day roster.

Towers said that it probably would be best for Parker to get a few minor league starts before being brought up to the majors.

"But I'm certainly not going to tell the kid that," he said. "If he forces our hand and we feel he's one of our best five and this is a guy we want to go, maybe he starts with us."

When he finally takes the mound, expectations will be sky high, something he said he will ignore.

"I'm pretty even-keeled, laid back, so I don't try to think about it," Parker said. "Between the lines stuff will take care of itself, and whatever happens, happens."

Donald Rumsfeld: Its possible more troops would have been useful in Iraq

More than four years after leaving office, former Secretary of Defense Donald Rumsfeld is arguing the war in Iraq was worthwhile, and says he’s not sorry sorry about the decisions he made there and in Afghanistan,ABC News.

“I think the world’s a better place with Saddam Hussein gone and with the Taliban gone and the al-Qaida out of Afghanistan,” Rumsfeld said.

Rumsfeld added that it was “interesting” that former President George W. Bush wrote that cutting troop levels in Iraq was “the most important failure in the execution of the war.”

“I don’t have enough confidence to say that that’s right. I think that it’s possible,” Rumsfeld said in his first television interview since 2006. “We had [an] enormous number of troops ready to go in. They had — we had off-ramps, if they weren’t needed.”

“It’s hard to know,” Rumsfeld said. “You know, the path you didn’t take is always smoother.”

Rumsfeld wasn’t in total accordance with the orchestration of the Iraq war decision-making process. Rumsfeld told ABC’s Diane Sawyer that “it’s possible” the war’s biggest mistake surrounds the decision on how many troops to send to Iraq.

Sawyer cited a line in Rumsfeld’s, “Known and Unknown,” in which he says, “more troops could have been useful [in Iraq].”

“It’s possible,” Rumsfeld responded. “In a war, many things cost lives.”

Rumsfeld had some harsh words for former Secretary of State Colin Powell under Bush Jr., who initially opposed the Iraq invasion.

“He did not in my view do a good job of managing the people under him,” Rumsfeld said. “And there was a lot of leaking out of the State Department, and the president knew it … and it was unhelpful. Most of it ended up making the State Department look good. We didn’t do that in the Pentagon, I insisted we not do it.”

When Sawyer asked if Rumsfeld learned any lessons about himself from the war, he answered that the war was not about him.

“I don’t really think that way, I wasn’t worried about me, I was worried about the country,” Rumsfeld said.

Sawyer referenced another defense secretary, Robert Mcmara, who famously said of the Vietnam war years after it ended that “we were wrong, terribly wrong.”

“That’s not the case with Iraq,” Rumsfeld said.

Rumsfeld’s interview is tied to this week’s release of his memoir.

Un Guadeloupéen lance la chaîne Beblack TV

Une chaîne de télévision dédiée aux arts et cultures noires, BeBLack TV (BBlk).
Elle a été lancée jeudi 20 janvier 2011.
La nouvelle chaine est à découvrir sur la Freebox et sur les canaux 78 et 145 de la XBOX dans l’Hexagone, et sur le canal 33 de Mediaserv en outre-mer (Guadeloupe, Martinique, Guyane et Réunion).
