Face au redoutable lobby, qu'est-ce que la politique française ?

Le peuple bulgare et ses conseils municipaux viennent d'amener l'Etat bulgare à retirer le permis d'exploitation du gaz de schiste accordé à au groupe américain Chevron¹ : une exploitation par fracturation hydraulique, qui serait mortifère pour les rares nappes phréatiques de la région de Novi Pazar et de Velki Preslav...

Les Nord-Américains, pour leur part, visionnent le court-métrage de Corey Ogilvie sur les désastres écologiques et humains provoqués par le groupe canadien Enbridge (déjà 800 incidents de pollution pétrolière à son actif) : groupe qui développe actuellement une monstrueuse combinaison de pipeline et de pétroliers géants pour transporter ses produits nocifs dans le nord canadien et sur les côtes de Colombie britannique².

Mais pendant ce temps, en France, M. Christophe de Margerie claironne que le « code de conduite » de Total « n'interdit pas la fracturation hydraulique », et qu'il va faire annuler par les tribunaux administratifs l'abrogation de son permis d'exploitation dans la région de Montélimar. Les pétroliers laissent entendre que la « Commission nationale d'orientation, de suivi et d'évaluation des techniques d'exploration et d'exploitation des hydrocarbures liquides ou gazeux » se prépare à rendre (en juillet, après la présidentielle !), un avis favorable à la fracturation hydraulique : seul (et catastrophique) procédé d'extraction du gaz de schiste. Après quoi les parlementaires libéraux de droite et de gauche, larrons en foire, n'auront plus qu'à abolir la loi de juillet 2011...

On sent donc souffler un vent chargé d'effluves toxiques. Le gouvernement français vient de désavouer le texte européen pénalisant les carburants «sales en CO2 » (sables bitumineux par exemple). Le poids de la France dans ces délibérations étant décisif, on voit dans quel sens va la manoeuvre... C'est le résultat de la pression du gouvernement canadien³, acquis au lobby des sables bitumineux. Ottawa avait-il un deal avec Paris ? « Quelques jours après le recul du gouvernement français sur le texte euopéen, le Canada a donné son feu vert à un projet de Total d'exploitation du sable bitumineux dans la province de l'Alberta », constatent les Amis de la terre. Comment disait Zinoviev, déjà ? Ah oui : « votre post-démocratie occidentale ».

1. Permis accordé en juin 2011 sur un périmètre de 4400 km2 autour de la ville de Novi Pazar. Ce permis a été retiré par le Parlement bulgare le 17 janvier. Les députés bulgares ont également interdit l'exploration des gisements par la technique ravageuse de la fracturation hydraulique, « en s'appuyant sur le précédent de la loi française votée en juillet 2011 ». ils ignorent que la droite française prépare l'abolition de cette loi.

3. Le gouvernement canadien du « conservative » Stephen Harper, ami personnel de GW Bush, est le pire pollueur. Bien que se prétendant chrétien et même born again, Harper proclame que « toute cette histoire d'écologie n'est qu'un complot socialiste contre notre niveau de vie ». LE FESTIVAL ART DANTHE A VANVES ESSAIME A L’ETRANGER (MONTREAL ET TILBURG )

Le Blog de Vanves Au Quotidien termine sa série d’articles sur la 14éme édition du festival ArtDanthé qui acueillera 65 spectacles donnés par 53 compagnies avec 19 créations, en abordant ses partenariats avec d’autres lieux culturels à l’étranger, notamment Montréal (Canda) ert Tilburg (Pays Bas).

« L’événement majeur depuis la création du Festival remonte à 2004 lorsque José Alfaroba a accueillit pour la première fois la compagnie Daniel Léveillé, chorégraphe et pédagogue assez important à Québec et Montréal qui a donné naissance à beaucoup de petites compagnies et occupe une place à part et bien à lui dans le milieu de la danse contemporaine. Il s’est investi activement dans le développement de plusieurs générations de jeunes chorégraphes contribuant ainsu à la pérénnité du riche milieu chorégraphque montréalais. Il a présenté beaucoup de ses pièces au théâtre Le Vanves. Son spectacle « la pudeur des icebergs » programmé le 9 Mars 2012 est un traitement sur le corps et le nu, très scructurale, complétement dépouillé de tout aspect sexuel » indique Tristan Barani, assistant du festival.

Ainsi José Alfarroba a donné carte blanche à Marie André Gougeon qui est une productrice de Montréal pour ce focus sur Québec, soutenu par le centre culturel canadien et la délégation du Québec à Paris qui investissent beaucoup pour diffuser la culture québécoise en France. « Ils connaissent bien le travail effectué dans le festival, et l’attachement de José Alfarroba pour le Québec et sa culture qui l’améne à se rendre beaucoup là bas pour aller voir ses spectacles. Nous accueillerons 10 compagnies pour ce focus et beaucoup d’artistes. D’ailleurs ces échanges ont permis la naissance d’un petit festival Artdanthé à Montréal dont la première édition s’est déroulée du 2 au 20 Novembre 2011. Un jumelage est ainsi fait avec le théâtre de la Chapelle de Montréal, très similaire à celui de Vanves, dans la périphérie proche de Montréal, très repéré au niveau des institutions et du milieu artistique. Son nom est même « scéne contemporaine de la chapelle » indique t-il

Mais ce n’est pas tout, car le Théâtre Le Vanves a entamé depuis 5 ans, un partenariat culturel avec les Pays Bas et le Theater De Nwe Vorst de Tilburg à la suite d’une rencontre avec la compagnie T.R.A.S.SH. et Line Rousseau. « Nous avons fait un focus à chaque fois sur les compagnies néerlendaises venant de Tilburg (TRASH, André Gingras, Zerno Schuitemaker, Ulrika Kinn Swensson & Koen de Preter, les vidéastes Léonard & Joeren, la plasticienne Elle Rijk, la Compagnie United-C qui présentera le 31 Mars prochain « Two Times Soft »..) ». Valérie Vignaud s’est rendu à Tilburg en Octobre 2010, invitée par la Région Brabant, pour organiser une conférence pour 80 professionnels de tous les pays Bas et des journalistes, et présenter deux projets soutenus par ArtDanthé.

Ainsi, tous ces échanges se sont développés d’une manière informelle, comme c’est le cas la plupart du temps, « grâce à la la volonté de ses directeurs de théâtre qui se déménent sans moyens pour créer des liens et du sens, diffuser des artistes, échanger sur les techniques de communication, les différentes façons de yravailler avec le public pour le sensibiliser au niveau local. Et il ne faut pas croire ! Ils se déplacent pour voir des choses très radicales, très contemporaines, pour découvrir des artistes qu’ils ne connaissent pas » racontent Valérie Vignaud et Tristan Barani. « Au Pays Bas, les salles sont aussi des lieux de vie, avec carrément une bibilothéque, une librairie liée au théâtre » a constaté Valérie Vignaud qui explique que « ces échanges avec Tilburg ont porté leurs fruits malgré les coupes séches - Le Theâtre de Tilburg a perdu 60 à 70% de son budget - dans ce pays, qui se poursuivent et devraient se traduire par un festival Artdanthé là bas, comme au Canada, ce qui permettra de créer un lien fort »

SYNOPSIS: Fin des années 1990, Dans le nord du Texas, un gamin tombe dans une crevasse. Un liquide noir l'envahit. Quelques jours plus tard, une alerte à la bombe dans un bâtiment du FBI est déclenchée. Les agents Mulder et Scully sont sur les lieux. La bombe explose après l'évacuation du bâtiment. Mais les 2 agents apprennent très vite que les corps de 3 pompiers et d'un enfant ont été retrouvés. L'agent Scully autopsie un pompier et découvre un corps envahi par une protéine inconnue. Au même moment au Texas Un scientifique se fait tuer par ce qu'il faut appeler un Extraterrestre. Quant à Mulder il est contacté par un ami de son père, le docteur Kurzweil qui le met sur la piste de personnes qui ont passé un pacte cinquantenaire avec les E.T. dans le but de leur permettre une colonisation contrôlée de la terre...

CRITIQUE: Film fantastique inspiré de la série TV de même nom et avec les mêmes acteurs principaux. Qui n'est pas initié à la série ne saisit pas toutes les subtiités ou clins d'oeil faits à la série. Et peut avoir la sensation d'être un peu à côté. Même si l'histoire brute se suit parfaitement. Nous nageons dans les théories de complots au sommet de l'Etat sujet très apprécié aux Etats-Unis. C'est une récompense envers les paranoiaques. Oui l'espèce humaine est menacée par des E.T., oui les hauts responsables de l'Etat et de la sécurité de l'Etat sont complices. Si l'on met de côté ce message, c'est un bon divertissement aux rebondissements spectaculaires.

La scène d'anthologie: Scully et Mulder entrent dans un hangar de toile blanche après avoir traversé un champs de mïs en plein désert. Soudain des trappes s'ouvrent et des millions d'abeilles envahissent l'espace. Terrifiant.

J'aime bien les Amérindiens, notamment les Mohawks ou les Iroquois, je n'en ai jamais rencontré, sauf dans les BD de mon enfance - mais voici ce que l'on dit d'eux dans un article parut dans Le Point ; je lis '' qu'une jeune Mohawk, Kateri Tekakwitha, en passe de devenir la première sainte amérindienne ''

Le Vatican a annoncé le mois dernier la prochaine canonisation de cette femme née en 1656 à Ossernenon ( aujourd'hui Auriesville dans l'Etat de New York ) sur les rives de la rivière Mohawk, et décédée au Canada à 24 ans

Usine à fabriquer des saints ou des reliques, compte, pour le profane, parmi les ridicules les plus perceptibles affichés par l'église depuis '' son invention et implantation dans le monde

Extraction du pétrole : Dites ”non” au piège annoncé des accords UE-Canada

Dans sa dernière livraison, "Lignes d'Attac", le journal de l'association altermondialiste, nous informe des conséquences de l'accord UE-Canada (AECG, pour Accord économique, commercial et golbal) en cours de négociation et dont la presse ne parle pas. Elles pourraient pourtant s'avérer désastreuses à plus d'un titre, notamment en matière d'accès aux ressources naturelles.

Les Canadiens demandent en effet que l'UE cesse de réglementer, voire d'interdire, l'extraction du pétrole de sables bitumineux sur le Vieux continent. La réglementation sur les autres ressources pourrait aussi en pâtir, comme le pétrole et le gaz de schiste ! Sans parler de la directive REACH sur les produits chimiques ou celle sur sur la qualité de l'air. Une entreprise canadienne comme Vermilion, qui rachète à tour de bras des permis d'exploration et d'exploitation de pétrole en France, serait évidemment bien placée, mais la porte s'ouvrirait en réalité pour tous les autres opérateurs. Ce serait en outre le prélude à l'arrivée des entreprises états-uniennes spécialisées dans l'extraction de d'hydrocarbures de schiste. Le Canada fait en effet partie de l'Alena (accord de libre échange entre le Canada, le Mexique et les Etats-Unis)...

Il ne faut pas que cet accord soit signé, ce qui est prévu début 2012 !! Avec une ratification un an après. Il s'apparente, en pire !, à l'AMI (accord multilatéral sur les investissements) qu'un vaste mouvement social avait permis de défaire il y a 13 ans.

Je vous propose d'alerter un maximum de monde, d'abord dans votre réseau, mais aussi les médias, les élus locaux et nationaux, et bien sûr les candidats aux élections présidentielles et législatives, pour qu'ils se déterminent sur la question. Il y a fort à parier que très peu d'entre eux soient au courant de cette initiative qui se fait dans la plus grande discrétion, comme l'AMI en son temps. Or, ces accords honteux tendent à tomber d'eux-mêmes une fois mis en lumière ("effet Dracula") . Il est clair également qu'après les élections, il sera très difficile de mobiliser la population sur ce sujet.

2012 est là, et avec elle son lot d’élections en France, et à l’étranger. Elections présidentielles bien-sur en métropole, mais également les élections législatives. Avec une particularité pour ces dernières : l’élection des députés des français de l’étranger. Cette élection, la première, sera importante pour nos concitoyens vivant à l’étranger puisqu’ils pourront envoyer au Parlement un député qui puisse les représenter.

Des circonscriptions très convoitées.

Cette élection, dès les premiers balbutiements de ce projet, a attisé toutes les convoitises des grands partis. Certains élus en mal de circonscription (suite au redécoupage métropolitain) souhaitant se trouver un nouveau point de chute ont tout de suite montrés leur fort intérêt à pouvoir représenter leur concitoyens de l’étranger au sein de l’Assemblée nationale.

Pour celle qui fût mon ancienne circonscription électorale, la 1^ère regroupant les Etats-Unis & le Canada, la file de prétendants du parti majoritaire était longue.

Il y a d’abord eu Christine Lagarde, un temps pressenti pour l’investiture UMP, à qui il fallait trouver une circonscription, l’ancienne ministre n’ayant jamais été élue. Elle a ensuite jeté l’éponge lorsque s’est profilée l’idée de prendre la direction générale du FMI. Signe qu’au final, Christine Lagarde n’était pas fortement motivée pour représenter les français d’Amérique du Nord à l’Assemblée nationale. Au final, c’est Frédéric Lefebvre, actuel Secrétaire d’Etat au commerce & à l’artisanat qui a été désigné pour porter les couleurs de la majorité.

Cela me dérangerait en temps que Français vivant à l’étranger que mon député à notre assemblée soir Frédéric Lefebvre. Non pas que j’ai quoi que ce soit contre l’homme. Mais que connait-il de la circonscription pour laquelle il se présente ? Y a-t-il résidé ?

J’ai une vision de la députation qui est la suivante : le député, lors de son élection représente un territoire qu’il est censé défendre au sein du Parlement. Il est donc normal que cet homme ou femme soit issu(e) de ce territoire, qu’il en connaisse les forces et faiblesses, les atouts et inconvénients. Quoi donc de plus normal qu’un candidat local ? Quoi donc de plus normal qu’un candidat qui connaisse les enjeux locaux de ces concitoyens ?

C’est pourquoi, je suis fortement convaincu que les Français d’Amérique du nord doivent élire un député qui leur ressemble. Un député qui vit et travaille en Amérique du nord. Un député qui, comme eux, connait les problèmes de nos concitoyens sur place. Et non pas un député imposé par un état major parisien afin de placer untel ou untel. Les Français d’Amérique du nord auraient tort d’aller dans cette direction. Ce dernier élu, parions sans risque, qu’il passera plus de temps en métropole qu’au sein de la communauté française de sa circonscription, et cela au détriment des Français d’Amérique du nord.

I put on my high tech thermal underwear then strap on one of those back heating belts. Put the rest of my clothes on over it and it takes maybe 15 to 20 minutes for it to heat up. Let me tell you, this set up gives me at least another couple of hours in the stand and gets me to 10:00 without turning into a solid block of ice.The back heating pad, the hand warmers and the boot liners cost about $5.00 for a day. My local grocery store sells these items. I think that's a bargain for increasing the enjoyment of my hunting time.

En sciences sociales des religions, le comparatisme est risqué, mais il n'est pas optionnel. C'est en comparant qu'on affine l'analyse et qu'on évite les erreurs de perspective.

Bien que n'étant pas un spécialiste de l'islam, c'est au titre de cette exigence comparatiste que je voudrais signaler brièvement le beau livre de Samir Amghar, sociologue et chercheur au CERIUM, Centre d'études et de recherches internationales de l'Université de Montréal (canada).

Son livre s'intitule : Le salafisme aujourd'hui, Mouvements sectaires en Occident (Paris, 2011).

Parue au mois de septembre de cette année aux éditions Michalon, cette synthèse pédagogique, informée et bien problématisée constitue la meilleure clef d'entrée accessible, en français, au mouvement salafiste, branche rigoriste et piétiste de l'islam sunnite dont les adeptes, nous dit l'auteur en conclusion, ont fait "de la France le pôle de leur organisation en Europe" (p.199).

Tout en décrivant avec précision ces "mouvements de réaffirmation orthodoxes" (p.23), appuyé sur des outils sociologiques maîtrisés (dont le recours à Max Weber), Samir Amghar (ci-contre) fait aussi l'hypothèse d'un scénario de sortie des logiques sectaires. Il serait hors de propos ici de discuter les thèses de Samir Amghar.

Le mieux est de lire attentivement son ouvrage, fruit d'une enquête rigoureuse menée sur deux continents.

Deux heures après être rentré de la conférence de Durban, le ministre de l'environnement du Canada a annoncé : « Kyoto, pour le Canada, est chose du passé. Nous invoquons notre droit reconnu par la loi de nous retirer officiellement de Kyoto. Kyoto ne fonctionne pas » parce qu'il « ne couvre pas les deux plus grands pays émetteurs, les États-Unis et la Chine ».

Brandissant la menace de la perte de milliers d'emplois, le ministre, a évalué à 14 milliards de dollars les pénalités que le Canada risquait de devoir verser s'il restait partie au protocole sans atteindre ses objectifs, soit l'équivalent de 1600 $ par famille canadienne.

Un député, ancien ministre de l'Environnement a vivement réfuté cet argument : « C'est une blague totale! Un pays qui manque sa cible n'a aucune pénalité financière sous Kyoto. Il doit simplement à renégocier une cible en conséquence. C'est ce que prévoit le protocole ».

Selon un autre député, « M. Kent (ministre de l'environnement, vient d'acheter du temps pour les pollueurs du Canada, vient d'acheter du temps pour les grandes compagnies pétrolières des sables bitumineux de l'Ouest ».

Des premières lueurs du XXe siècle à la veille de la Grande guerre, David Cronenberg conte l'histoire d'une relation triangulaire entre les docteurs Carl Jung, Sigmund Freud et Sabina Spielrein, cette dernière passant tout d'abord par le stade de patiente du premier. Comme dans la plupart des biographies et des drames en costumes, le déroulement est chronologique et les sauts d'une année à une autre sont nombreux. Si le triangle évoqué à l'instant structure le film, cette évidence apparaît très progressivement et sans que la figure ne soit réellement convoquée à l'image (sinon de manière détournée en une occasion réunissant Jung et sa protégée Sabina, à côté d'Emma, la femme du docteur bientôt trompée par ces deux-là). Entre Jung et Freud, le lien est tissé par l'intermédiaire de Mlle Spielrein, qui sera aussi la cause de sa rupture.

A dangerous method déjoue les attentes. Cronenberg fait intervenir le Dr Freud assez tardivement, bien que son nom soit vite cité, et il ne se lance pas dans un écheveau narratif complexe mais compose une série de scènes à deux personnages, collant ainsi à son sujet, la psychanalyse et le rapport particulier qu'elle induit entre le médecin et son patient. Nous avons donc là, essentiellement, un film de dialogues, dans lequel la mise en scène de la parole est primordiale. Le cinéaste se tourne vers une société corsetée dont il fige et épure les décors pour mieux en détacher les corps et mettre en valeur la parole extirpée. Souvent, il offre au spectateur une vision également nette de deux visages pourtant placés sur des plans différents dans la profondeur du cadre, effet qu'il n'est pas le premier à réaliser mais certainement l'un de ceux qui l'aura utilisé avec le plus de pertinence par rapport à son propos. Celui (celle) qui parle et celui qui écoute suscitent la même attention. Pour une fois, la parole se charge donc presque entièrement de porter le mystère à la place du corps (les rêves analysés) et c'est le son qui bouscule plutôt que les images (les récits érotiques et/ou traumatisants). Le scandale du sexe est dans les mots et pratiquement pas ailleurs. L'écran reste relativement chaste.

Le film est l'adaptation d'une pièce de Christopher Hampton, elle-même dérivant d'un livre de John Kerr. Les intérieurs sont privilégiés, les débordements stylistiques sont évités, l'ouvrage apparaît classique. Presque archaïque par moments : les plans faisant appel au numérique évoquent de vieilles transparences et le jeu de Keira Knightley est excessif dans sa tension. Dans ce domaine, la contribution de Vincent Cassel, dans un rôle secondaire, a du mal à me convaincre. Viggo Mortensen campe en revanche un Freud imposant et Michael Fassbender hérite quant à lui d'un Jung plus exposé et plus changeant.

Les séquences les plus mémorables réunissent ces deux derniers. Leurs discussions, leur amitié, leurs divergences et leur rupture par lettres interposées se révèlent très prenantes. De façon saisissante et douloureuse, le lien est coupé, comme le dit Freud. Alors qu'il annonce cela, sont montrés sur un plateau une enveloppe ouverte et un coupe-papier. Si Cronenberg ne nous gratifie pas d'autres fulgurances qu'un bruit de bois craquant dans une bibliothèque, il fait toujours preuve d'une diabolique maîtrise dans la conduite de son récit, dans le passage d'une séquence à l'autre, dans le saut d'un plan au suivant. La malade à l'hôpital parle de liberté et aussitôt nous passons à l'image d'une calèche déboulant à vive allure dans une rue. L'épouse de Jung veut que celui-ci lui revienne et voilà qu'une scène débute avec l'avancée de la barque du docteur vers une silhouette féminine l'attendant sur la berge. Le montage semble ainsi par moments suivre une pensée ou se faire par associations d'idées, mais sans heurt aucun.

Tout cela fait un film pensé, concerté, soigné. Aussi, un film théorique et mené sur un seul ton. Sa réussite me semble tenir dans certaines limites, les mêmes que l'on décelait dans M. Butterfly ou Spider, celles du drame psychologique d'apparence classique. Malgré les évidentes qualités qui s'y retrouvent, ce n'est pas, chez David Cronenberg, le sillon qui a ma préférence.

La balance commerciale du Canada avec le monde est passée d'un déficit de 487 millions $ en août à un excédent de 1,2 milliard $ en septembre. Les importations ont décliné pour s'établir à 38,5 milliards $, les volumes ayant baissé de 3,1 pour cent et les prix ayant augmenté de 2,8 pour cent. Le déclin était principalement attribuable au recul des importations de machines et d'équipement ainsi que de produits de l'automobile, ces deux secteurs ayant connu une diminution des volumes, selon l'agence gouvernementale. Le Monarque est un papillon d'Amérique qui migre en groupe de millions d'individus sur plus de 4000 kilomètres, deux fois par an, d'août à octobre vers le Mexique puis au printemps retour vers le Canada.

Les papillons monarques, qui ne mesurent que 10cm et ne pèsent qu"un demi gramme, savent utiliser les vents pour traverser la moitié du continent américain en franchissant les montagnes et déserts. Mais ils sont menacés par la déforestation des forêts de Michoacán, au Mexique. Officiellement protégées, ces forêts sont elles mêmes menacées par les abattages sauvages. La survie de l'espèce est en danger.

Les 10 villes les plus agréables du monde

Le magazine The Economist a publié son classement annuel des villes les plus agréables du monde. L’étude a pris en compte trente critères autour de cinq domaines : stabilité, soins de santé, culture et environnement, éducation et infrastructures. Au total, ce classement contient 140 villes. Nous avons choisi de ne citer que les 10 premières.

1. Melbourne (Australie)
La capitale économique de l’Australie récolte une note de 97,5/100. Un joli score qui s’explique notamment, selon l’étude de The Economist, par l’environnement et les structures éducatives.

2. Vienne (Autriche)
Aussi surprenant que cela puisse paraître, Vienne se classe deuxième de ce classement avec une note de 97,4/100. Vienne est par ailleurs la première ville européenne a figurer dans ce top 10.

3. Vancouver (Canada)
Il fait pratiquement toujours froid à Vancouver, mais cela n’empêche pas la ville, dotée de super structures d’éducation et de l’un des meilleurs réseaux hospitaliers au monde, de compléter ce podium avec une note de 97,3/100.

4. Toronto (Canada)
Encore une ville canadienne. Toronto obtient pour les mêmes raisons que Vancouver, une note quasi similaire de 96,6/100.

5. Calgary (Canada)
Idem que les deux précédentes. Tous au Canada ?

6. Sydney (Australie)
La vie agréable, de bonnes universités, un bon système de santé… Sydney est la deuxième ville australienne çà se classer parmi les dix villes les plus agréables du monde.

7. Helsinki (Finlande)
La deuxième ville européenne a figuré dans ce top 10. Un taux de chômage quasi nul, un taux d’insécurité quasi nul, un soleil quasi nul… Helsinski, c’est la dolce vita !

8. Perth (Australie)
Visiblement, l’Australie est le paradis sur terre.

L’Australie, toujours l’Australie.

10. Auckland (Nouvelle-Zélande)
La capitale de la Nouvelle-Zélande ferme ce top 10. Malgré un séisme assez meurtrier survenu au mois d’août, il semble faire bon vivre à Auckland. Les amoureux du rugby apprécieront également.

On critique beaucoup la revalorisation des symboles monarchistes par le gouvernement Harper. Ce dernier a financé à coups de millions la venue de William et Kate, et il accroche là où on peut le portrait de la reine. Même la marine canadienne redevient royale ! Plusieurs dénoncent le néo-impérialisme des conservateurs. Ils devraient baisser d’un ton. Car les choses sont plus complexes. Elles témoignent d’une transformation identitaire significative.

On l’oublie souvent, mais le Canada tel que nous le connaissons est une création récente. Il n’a pas 30 ans. C’est l’oeuvre de Pierre Elliot Trudeau. Trudeau avait un objectif : détruire le nationalisme québécois. Il avait un rêve : vider le Canada de son passé et le transformer en utopie progressiste. Il deviendrait ainsi un modèle pour l’humanité. Le Canada de 1982 en est le résultat. Il s’agit d’une construction idéologique artificielle fabriquée à grand renfort de propagande, un petit paradis bureaucratique pour fonctionnaires fédéraux, avec sa Charte des droits, son multiculturalisme, ses Casques bleus, ses programmes sociaux.

Mais le Canada de Trudeau n’est pas un pays. C’est un bazar. On est citoyen canadien comme on est citoyen du monde. La citoyenneté canadienne a la profondeur existentielle d’un tampon administratif. D’ailleurs, le Canada de Trudeau trouve preneur dans le Toronto mondialisé, le Montréal multiculturel, la fonction publique fédérale et une partie des élites médiatiques. Mais le pays réel n’a jamais vraiment suivi.

Car le Canada existait avant Trudeau. C’était un Canada britannique qui était fier de son héritage monarchiste, en bonne partie fondateur de son identité. Le Canada ne pouvait le sacrifier sans finir par se renier. Et dans un monde qui voit l’utopie multiculturaliste éclater, il est normal qu’il redécouvre ses fondements.

Ceci éclaire cela. Nous assistons aujourd’hui au retour d’un certain refoulement identitaire. Le Canada cherche à se réconcilier avec son histoire. À redonner un sens aux symboles qui viennent de son passé. Il n’est plus seulement britannique, certes, mais il se rappelle qu’il l’a déjà été. Cela porte à conséquence. Par exemple, le Canada se voyait hier comme le meilleur allié de l’Empire britannique. Il se voit aujourd’hui comme le meilleur allié des États-Unis. Le Canada conservateur ne se veut plus citoyen onusien, mais pays anglo- saxon. Il revendique sa place dans l’anglosphère.

En un sens, le kitsch monarchiste est moins agressant que le kitsch multiculturaliste. Avec le Canada anglais, nous avons affaire à une réalité désagréable, alors qu’avec le Canada de Trudeau, nous avions affaire à un fantasme détestable. Et historiquement, c’est avec le Canada anglais que les Québécois négociaient. Il les regardait de haut ? Au moins, il savait qu’ils existaient. Le Canada de Trudeau, lui, est fondé sur leur négation.

Tout cela n’est peut-être que jeu d’apparences. Mais je le redis, entre le kitsch multiculturaliste de Trudeau et le kitsch monarchiste des conservateurs, je m’exaspère moins du second que du premier. Aucun des deux ne fait une place au Québec ? Très juste. Mais si nous ne voulons plus vivre dans un pays qui censure notre identité, nous pouvons toujours faire l’indépendance. J’oubliais ! Les Québécois ne veulent plus en entendre parler. De quoi se plaignent-ils, alors ?

Nobel de médecine : un Français récompensé

Le prix Nobel de médecine 2011 a été décerné aujourd'hui à l'Américain Bruce Beutler, au Français Jules Hoffmann et au Canadien Ralph Steinman, pour leurs travaux sur le système immunitaire.

"Les lauréats du Nobel de cette année ont révolutionné notre compréhension du système immunitaire en découvrant les principes clef de son activation", indique dans un communiqué le comité Nobel. "MM. Beutler et Hoffmann se partagent une moitié du prix pour leurs travaux sur le système immunitaire inné. M. Steinman est récompensé pour ses travaux sur le système immunitaire adaptatif", précise le comité.

Beutler et Hoffmann vont se partager la moitié du prix d'un million d'euros remis aux lauréats tandis que Steinman obtiendra l'autre moitié de la somme.

Des recherches ouvrant la voie à de nouveaux médicaments

Le système immunitaire permet à l'organisme de se défendre en libérant des anticorps et des cellules tueuses en réponse à des virus ou des germes. Les recherches distinguées cette année par le Nobel ouvrent la voie à de nouveaux médicaments et permet de combattre des déficiences immunitaires comme l'asthme, la polyarthrite rhumatoïde et la maladie de Crohn. "Leurs travaux ont ouvert de nouvelles voies pour le développement de la prévention et pour des thérapies contre les infections, les cancers et les maladies inflammatoires", explique le jury.

Jules Hoffmann, 70 ans, et Bruce Beutler, 55 ans, "ont découvert les protéines réceptrices qui reconnaissent les micro-organismes (nocifs) et activent le système immunitaire, première étape de la réponse immunitaire de l'organisme", explique le comité Nobel. Jules Hoffmann travaille au sein de l'Institut de biologie moléculaire et cellulaire de Strasbourg. Il a reçu la médaille d'or du CNRS en 2011.

Ralph Steinman, 68 ans, "a découvert les cellules dendritiques du système immunitaire et leur capacité unique à activer et réguler l'immunité adaptative, dernière étape de la réponse immunitaire de l'organisme au cours de laquelle les micro-organismes sont évacués du corps", ajoute le comité.

Les trois lauréats recevront leur prix lors d'une cérémonie officielle à Stockholm le 10 décembre, date anniversaire de la mort du fondateur du prix, l'industriel suédois Alfred Nobel.

En février 1357, les troupes anglaises du duc de Lancaster assiègent Dinan, défendu par Bertrand Du Guesclin. Au cours d'une trêve, son jeune frère, qui s'était aventuré à l'extérieur des remparts, est capturé par Thomas de Canterbury. Offensé, Du Guesclin provoque celui-ci en combat singulier. Pendant l'affrontement qui se déroule place du Champ, il descend de cheval, tue la monture de son adversaire, qui se trouve désarçonné, mais ne l'achève pas. Les Anglais lèvent alors le siège de Dinan et se dirigent vers Rennes, qui résiste. À la suite de cet exploit, Charles de Blois, prétendant au duché de Bretagne, arme Du Guesclin chevalier.

Souvenir de vacances : Le parler québécois.

J'ai donc passé mes vacances d'été au Canada, au Québec pour être précise, à Montréal pour être très précise. J'ai concrétisé un projet qui me trottait dans la tête depuis plusieurs mois : un échange d'appartement...

Ca n'a pas été facile pour la stressée maniaque que je suis de laisser mon petit chez moi à des inconnues, mais je n'ai pas regretté, ça nous a permis de nous offrir de très chouettes vacances !

Nous sommes donc arrivés mon Greluchon et moi à Montréal en pleine canicule (si, si ça existe là bas, ne rigolez pas, il y avait plus de 40° ressentis !) et rapidement on a compris qu'on allait pas tout comprendre justement...

Déjà les québécois ont un accent, charmant certes, mais qui peut être difficile à comprendre parfois. Ensuite, ils ont des intonations et autres "tics" de langages, comme par exemple ponctuer chaque fin de phrase par des "t'sais" et "là" mais prononcé façon chti, ce qui donne plutôt "lô".

Il y a aussi les mots "françisés" comme les panneaux "arrêt" pour notre "stop" dans la rue.
Ou le plus incongru "verge" au football américain (ça surprend quand on entend ça à la télé la première fois), qui est à peu près l'équivalent d'un yard, c'est à dire environ un mètre...

Mais aussi le contraire : les mots anglais qui surgissent sans prévenir dans une phrase : une "smoke" pour une cigarette", un "party" pour une fête, le "gym" pour la salle de sport, un "c'est pas winner" pour dire que ça ne vaut pas le coup...

Enfin, certains mots ne veulent pas du tout dire la même chose chez nous, et ça peut vraiment porter à confusion !
On a ainsi découvert en assistant à un spectacle du festival "Juste pour rire" que les femmes au Québec ont des "boules", mais pas les hommes !
Et pour cause, les boules désignent la poitrine féminine...

Par contre, les hommes québécois ont tous des foufounes, puisqu'il s'agit là des fesses !

Bref, heureusement que les québécois sont des gens plutôt sympas car parfois la communication n'est pas évidente...

Protestants canadiens francophones : un livre de référence

Evoquer le protestantisme en Amérique du Nord renvoie souvent aux Etats-Unis. Mais quel dommage d'oublier le Canada! Le prestigieux éditeur Brill, et Henri Gooren en particulier (general editor) vient opportunément rappeler aux lecteurs anglophones et francophones l'importance du protestantisme canadien de langue française.

Sous la houlette de Jason Zuidema, l'ouvrage, en anglais, vient tout juste de sortir des presses et sera disponible dans quelques semaines dans toutes les bonnes librairies.

Il s'intitule French Speaking Protestants in Canada: Historical Essays (Brill, 2011). Il est publié dans la collection de référence "Religion in the Americas".

Son prix ne le rend hélas pas accessible à toutes les bourses... mais gageons que tous les centres de documentation soucieux d'offrir aux lecteurs des outils pour mieux comprendre la francophonie religieuse sauront déceler la trésor contenu dans cette collection d'études.

On y trouvera notamment, au chapitre 12, un article signé par votre serviteur. Il s'intitule : "The other American Dream: French Baptists and Canada in the 19th and 20th Century" (22 pages).
