Une jolie balade à Trentemoult, à nouveau, avec un ciel très sombre mais un soleil qui ne nous a pas lâchés! Mais toujours de jolies rencontres et chouettes découvertes: joli chat, cage à oiseaux et nature en fête! Hélas quelques peintures au sol ou aux murs que j'affectionne tant commencent à bien disparaître et je ne sais pas s'elles seront refaites... J'ai l'impression que cela perd un peu de son charme du coup... Un camp de roms s'est installé sous le pendule et nous n'avons pas osé aller lui passer notre traditionnel coucou... J'espère que Trentemoult n'attend que le vrai soleil pour se refaire une beauté pour que j'aille y passer mes après-midi cet été! Je n'ai plus que quelques minutes de marche à faire pour prendre le navibus et me délecter de cet endroit tant adoré!

Rendons cette justice à notre société c'est qu'elle supporte très bien les persécuteurs. Elle est habituée à l'idée qu'ils avaient leur utilité. D'une manière ou d'une autre, un matin ou un soir, vous devez vous attendre à voir surgir quelqu'un qui dira qu'il est mandaté par les persécuteurs et qu'il va donc vous priver de la liberté ou de la vie, ou de votre femme, ou, ce qui est pire de votre argent. Et il faut vous y faire puisque cela ne dépend pas de vous. Vous dépendrez du persécuteur au contraire. Même si vous détournez les yeux, il vous frapperait la face pour que vous les ouvriez de nouveau. Alors, autant admettre une fois pour toute qu'il fait partie du paysage. Le monde de l'artiste est celui de la contestation vivante et de la compréhension. No passado dia de S.Martinho estivemos de visita ao restaurante do nosso cliente e amigo Manuel Moreira que fica situado na cidade de Suresnes, como e de conhecimento de uma grande parte dos amantes da boa cozinha Portuguesa da região de Paris o restaurante " A PONTE " e o paraíso dos bons pratos caseiros, confeccionados com produtos genuínos.

Deram encontro para almoçar nesta casa uma boa centena de pessoas, ou seja lotação esgotada uma semana antes da data, porque alem do almoço das castanhas e da boa pinga, também ouve espectáculo de concertinas,cantares ao desafio,musica para dançar ...

La langue française, la langue de Molière, si mélodieuse, si appréciée par le reste du monde, nianiania. Bon oui, elle est jolie la langue française, mais elle a planté ses piliers sur des régles sexistes. Les puristes de notre belle langue se défendrons (faiblement, maladroitement, piètrement) en nous disant que nous sommes paranoïaques.

Pourtant :

En Français, le masculin l'emporte sur le féminin : cette phrase, que nous avons toutes et tous entendu il y a bien longtemps déjà, au temps des crayons de couleurs et des tableaux noir, est une règle sexiste au possible. Elle consiste à dire que lorsque l'on parle d'un groupe, le pronom personnel s'accord en fonction du sexe des membres de ce groupe. Ainsi, pour un groupe uniquement composé de personnes de sexe féminin, on emploiera "Elles", pour un groupe uniquement composé de personnes de sexe masculin, on emploiera "Ils". La logique de tous voudrait que le nombre l'emporte sur le genre, mais non, c'est l'inverse, le genre l'emporte sur le nombre : voilà pourquoi, dans un groupe composé de 50 personnes, il suffit qu'une seule de ces personnes soit de sexe masculin pour que l'on emploi le "Ils". Imaginez la scène en suivant à la lettre la grammaire française : 250 femmes, 1 homme : "Ils ont passés près de deux heures enfermés dans cette pièce". Ça frise le ridicule, on est d'accord.

Pourtant, chez nos voisins anglais, le pronom est toujours le même : "You". La seule différenciation que l'anglais effectue se situe au niveau des pronom possessifs, et paradoxalement, cette différenciation n'entraîne aucune voie discriminatoire :

Le livre d'Anna -> Son livre donnera "HER book", si l'on remplace Anna par Peter, son livre donnera "HIS book". Pas de règle du masculin l'emporte, et comme chez nous français, si Anna et Peter se trouvent dans la même pièce, ce sera leurs livres : "their books."

Il semblerait que ce sexisme soit à l'origine l'apanache des langues romanes et latines dont nous avons hérité en grande partie.

J'ai effectué plusieurs recherches, afin de comprendre l'origine de cette règle grammaticale française. Et, à ma grande surprise, voilà ce que j'ai trouvé :

"Cette règle de grammaire a été fondée au XVIIe siècle par l'Abbé Bouhour, célèbre grammairien, qui l'a justifié en expliquant que "lorsque les deux genres se rencontrent, il faut que le plus noble des deux l'emporte." L'article complète le paragraphe par : "Les initiatrices/teurs de cette pétition (ndlr : de la pétition visant à abolir "Le masculin l'emporte), insistent sur le fait qu'avant la généralisation de cette règle, on utilisait la règle de proximité même en latin et grec ancien." Mais quelle est donc cette "règle de proximité"? C'est une règle grammaticale antérieure à la règle du masculin l'emporte qui consiste à, lorsque l'on a une suite de noms masculins et féminins, marquer l'accord avec le dernier mot prononcé.

Un petit exemple pour illustrer :

« Surtout j’ai cru devoir aux larmes, aux prières / Consacrer ces trois jours et ces trois nuits entières. » [Racine "Athalie"]

J'imagine, en appliquant notre mysogyno-grammaire, la version sensée aujourd'hui être correcte, donc en accordant le mot "entier" avec "jours", et non, décidémment, ça n'a tout de même pas la même gueule.

Alors, le fait que des femmes, et de surcroît, des féministes (Ah! Au bûcher!) puissent remettre en question les fondements de notre langue actuelle en a hérissé plus d'un. Mais oui, il faut bien le dire : on s'en fou.

Une autre règle française profondément mysogyne : Le Mademoiselle.

Il y a environ un mois de cela, j'entrais en débat avec mon aimé sur le sujet, et je suis ravie de voir, qu'en réalité, cet revendication n'est pas uniquement mienne, mais que beaucoup de femmes et de féministes montent au créneau.

En effet, voilà encore un fondement totalement sexiste.

Mademoiselle vient du pronom possessif Ma et du nom Demoiselle contracté en un seul et unique mot, et le Demoiselle du terme Damoiselle, beaucoup plus ancien encore. A l'origine, il était utilisé pour désigner les femmes non mariées et les femmes mariées non nobles. Aujourd'hui, sur tous vos formulaires administratifs, vous trouvez les propositions Monsieur, Madame, Mademoiselle. Parce que Mademoiselle, à ce jour, désigne simplement une femme qui n'est pas mariée et qui ne l'a jamais été. Concrêtement, et en suivant la règle, une femme de 80ans qui n'a jamais été mariée est une "Mademoiselle".

Pourquoi alors cette différence, pourquoi une jeune femme de 15ans est une Demoiselle, alors qu'un jeune homme de 15ans est un Monsieur. Parce oui, même si le terme Damoiselle a disparut pour laisser place à Demoiselle et Mademoiselle, le terme Damoiseau, qui a existé et qui désignait une jeune homme lui, a disparut pour ne laisser place qu'à Monsieur.

Là se marque encore l'insidieuse domination masculine qui a oppressé et opresse encore les femmes. Rappelez vous nos grands mères, rappelez vous simplement 50/60ans en arrière : la finalité d'une femme était de se marier, d'enfanter et de servir son époux dignement. Travailler? Certainement

pas! Porter des pantalons? Pourquoi ne pas clairement dire aux hommes "je vous domine" ?! Aller dans des bars ? Il n'y a que les femmes de petites vertues qui se le permettent! Non définitivement, une femme n'a pas le droit de se prendre pour ce qu'elle n'est pas : un sexe fort.

Ainsi, alors que l'homme dés sa naissance jouissait de droits fondamentaux (autorité, légitimité, liberté), et était un

homme très tôt, la femme elle, n'était qu'un demi être humain de Mademoiselle, avec le droit d'exister en tant "qu'égale" du Monsieur uniquement lorsqu'elle aurait trouvé un homme voulant bien d'elle. Ainsi, une femme qui ne s'était jamais mariée et qui finissait ses jours sans un homme à ses côtés était appelée une vieille fille. Autant dire que le terme est loin d'être flatteur, et généralement, était accompagné par des synonymes considérés comme évidents tels que aigrie ou mal-baisée.

Pour saisir la différence notoire de statut entre un Mademoiselle et un Madame, il suffit d'être témoin ou "victime" d'une remontrance faite par un homme à une femme, jugez plutôt :

"Je vous prierai Madame, de ne plus dorénavant agir de la sorte."

Un homme adulte fait une requête à une dame. Il lui formule une demande claire et polie.
Passons maintenant à la version où le Madame est remplacé par le Mademoiselle :

"Je vous prierai Mademoiselle, de ne plus dorénavant agir de la sorte."

Un homme adulte fait une remontrance à une demoiselle. Nous ne somme plus phonétiquement dans le registre de la requête polie, mais dans celui de l'ordre avec autorité de l'interlocuteur.

Peu importe que ces deux femmes aient le même age, elles n'ont pas le même statut social, et la différence réside dans l'appellation qu'on leur porte.

Dans la vie d'une femme donc, le passage à l'age adulte se valorise par le changement d'appellation, du Mademoiselle au Madame. Un passage a l'age adulte considéré donc par le mariage. Un homme lui, dés que ses premiers poils pubiens apparaissent, on l'appelle Monsieur.

Alors oui, il y a des femmes qui revendiquent ce Mademoiselle : Pour certaine, car cela les rajeunis, pour d'autres parce qu'ainsi elles revendiquent le fait de n'avoir jamais été mariée. Je peux comprendre, même si je pense qu'il existe d'autres manières de revendiquer son opposition au mariage, d'autant qu'il me semblait que le poids des années était gage de sagesse... fût un temps.
On me dira également que, sur la pratique, lorsque l'on voit une dame de plus de 30ans nous l'appelons d'office Madame. Oui, parce qu'inconsciemment, à 30ans, tu es sensée être maman ou mariée.

Voilà donc, pour résumer, deux exemples flagrants, deux pilliers de la langue française basés sur le sexisme. Et en cherchant bien il y en a d'autres, beaucoup d'autre. Pour ma part, je serais d'avis soit de réinstaurer le Damoiseau et de créer ainsi le statut Mondemoiseau (ahah! *rire maléfique*), soit de laisser proprement le choix à une femme de s'appeler Madame, puisque certaines tiennent à leur Mademoiselle (il ne s'agirait pas non plus d'interdir à une femme d'avoir le choix...).

Grace to be replaced on TV show by Simpson judge

The judge who sentenced O.J. Simpson to prison plans to take over for Nancy Grace on the syndicated television show "Swift Justice."

Clark County District Court Judge Jackie Glass, who sentenced the former football star to nine to 33 years in prison for armed robbery and kidnapping in 2008, submitted her resignation to Nevada's governor on Tuesday, her clerk, Elana Roberto, told The Associated Press.

Nevada Gov. Brian Sandoval received the letter, his spokeswoman Mary-Sarah Kinner said.

Grace said in a release from CBS Television Distribution that she's leaving after the show's first season because it's relocating production to Los Angeles from Atlanta.

"Leaving such a successful show was a tough decision," Grace said.

Grace will continue to host her justice-themed cable show "Nancy Grace" on CNN's Headline News.

Promoted with the tagline "no robe, no gavel, no prisoners," "Swift Justice" featured Grace sorting out varied disputes submitted by viewers and fans.

Glass said in a statement that she's honored to take the new post. Her last day in court in Las Vegas is June 10.

Glass, a former anchor and crime reporter with experience on television and radio, is known for severe sentences and a strong personality in the courtroom. She had been a district court judge since 2003.

Simpson was her most high-profile defendant during a closely watched trial that featured several back-and-forth exchanges between Glass and others in the courtroom. Some of Glass' comments were so animated, she was parodied by "Saturday Night Live" and Jay Leno in jokes about the trial.

"As you can see, I'm not stodgy and stuffy," she told the jury in the Simpson case. "I am probably more animated than what you expect of a judge. That's not to say I don't take this seriously."

During one portion of the trial, Glass became heated when the lead investigator in the case blurted out a claim of possible misconduct by a friend of Simpson's.

"I'm surprised you haven't seen my head spin and fire come out of my mouth at this point in this trial," Glass said from the bench.

Simpson appealed his conviction and lost, but the Nevada Supreme Court ruled that Glass erred when she denied a motion to separate his trial from co-defendant Clarence "C.J." Stewart.

Simpson's lawyers had alleged 34 instances of judicial misconduct by Glass during the trial. The high court rejected them all.

Glass presides over the state's mental health court program in Clark County, which includes Las Vegas. The state's Mental Health Court system — which provides a voluntary alternative to jail time for offenders suffering from mental illness — was among the first of its kind in the U.S.

s 10th anniversary refresh, dubbed Apple Store 2.0, maintains the company's effort to give its brick and mortar locations an uncluttered, simple look featuring lots of open space.

Customers in Australia and Japan are already weighing in on the new look that was starting to pop up at Apple retail store locations on Sunday.

Twitter user Steve Aw from Brisbane, Australia described the iPad displays as a "" for customers.

If you plan to check it out, here's what you have in store for you.

Every display unit has an iPad loaded with product information split into several sections such as features, compare (models), support, and a specialist tab that pings a customer service representative to come to your location. Macs also come with a "New to Mac?" tab to introduce Windows users to Apple's version of the PC, and the iPhone displays have a tab for carrier information.

The display devices appear to be custom loaded with special software that allows you to only view product information.Visitors to the stores report that pressing the device's home button does nothing.The iPads also don't appear to be using Apple's 30-pin dock connector port for powering the device, but rather an alternative charging method.

In another marketing move, there's speculation that Apple also plans to release a new application for the iPhone that will allow users to build and buy a made-to-order Mac. That's according to .You would be able to customize your new computer on the iPhone just like you can on Apple.com, including the ability to add RAM, increase hard drive storage, and upgrade the processor.

Tweaked duck boat tour previewed on Delaware River

After its captain officially received radio clearance for "splashdown" Wednesday morning, a duck boat eased into the Delaware River more than nine months after an accident that killed two Hungarian exchange students.

Norcross, Ga.-based Ride The Ducks gave a preview tour for media and other invited guests, a short journey that showcased a new water route for the amphibious vessels that will be reduced from 30 minutes to about 10 minutes and go only about 70 to 100 feet from the shoreline. In addition to the truncated water route, a spotter boat will be present to help respond to any potential emergencies.

After starting with a brief tour of the city's historic section, the boat's captain, Norm Schultz, received radio clearance for the water portion:

"Duck 51, entering the Delaware River," he reported. With that, the vessel broke into the murky waters amid cloudy skies, providing up-close glimpses of the Ben Franklin Bridge and other sites, but not the extensive water tour given before.

Ride the Ducks President Chris Herschend said the changes were made in consultation with the U.S. Coast Guard, and that they make the tours even safer than they were before. Public tours begin Thursday.

"We want to get back to business," Herschend said.

Two Hungarian students were killed July 7 when a 2,100-ton city barge struck a disabled duck boat in the shipping channel, sinking the tour boat and dumping 35 passengers and two crew members into the river. The pilot of the tug boat pushing the barge was distracted by cell phone calls about a family emergency, the National Transportation and Safety Board revealed in a recent report. Federal prosecutors are reviewing whether any charges should be filed against him or others in the crash.

Ride the Ducks tried to move its operations across town to the quieter Schuylkill River, but the city rejected the plan amid concerns the tours would interfere with walking and biking trails there.

In other changes under the new protocols on the Delaware River, riders also won't be given their noisy "duck whistles" until the end of the trip, due to concerns expressed by people in the neighborhoods covered during the ground portion of the tour.

Le village fantôme

En courant les réderies ce dimanche, un groupe de maisons haut perchées sur des tubes métalliques attire l’œil. Le terrain clos semble délaissé. Dans un coin, au sol, un tas de maisons quasi détruites laisse penser qu’un véritable village se tenait debout sur cette parcelle. Bonne idée en tout cas d’avoir placé ce village miniature à hauteur d’yeux.

C'est assurément la bonne surprise de ce vendredi: le Mega Mystery Band qui nous narguait depuis des semaines se révèle être en réalité le producteur rémois Yuksek, qui a donc composé ce que l'on peut d'ores et déjà appeler un tube: On a Train.

Avant-goût de son futur album Living On the Edge of Time, On a Train est ainsi une véritable petite bombe Pop - qui reprend d'ailleurs tous les codes du genre. Rythme régulier, refrains tapageurs et choeurs typiques des hymnes de notre époque, tout y est: Yuksek a ici réussi à se renouveler en abandonnant vocoders et sonorités Électro de ses débuts, pour laisser place à un son et à une identité forte qui ravira les amateurs de Pop mélodieuse façon MGMT ou Empire of the Sun.

Tube FM en devenir, On a Train a également été remixé par Gucci Vump pour l'occasion (duo dans lequel l'on retrouve notamment un collaborateur de Yuksek: Brodinski). Métamorphosé, le titre n'en ressort pas moins bon et se trouve d'ailleurs être dans la continuité du remix de Woodkid que le duo a récemment réalisé. Tantôt sombre, tantôt grandiloquent, ce remix se révèle être savamment bien produit: le sens du rythme irréprochable de Brodinski et de Guillaume des Shoes faisant inévitablement mouche.

Apple iPad Smart Cover: A New Kind of Case

s Apple event, where the world was first , one thing stood out to me above everything else. Many of the new features and specs had been leaked, or correctly guessed, months ago, but no one knew that Apple would pour its innovative energies into a case for the new device. But they did, and the new Smart Cover might be the best case I've ever seen for a mobile device.

The Smart Cover is a single sheet, made of either polyurethane or leather and either pink, orange, green, blue, several shades of gray, black, cream or red. It snaps magnetically onto the side of the iPad, and closes over top of the screen. It protects the parts of the iPad that need protecting—the screen—and leaves the parts that don't—the rugged, aluminum back and sides—to the elements. It makes the case thin, the iPad lighter, and best of all makes the case and iPad extremely easy to separate. The magnetic system should work like the MagSafe adapters on Mac computers, which are a popular feature.

But the clever design doesn't end there. The Smart Cover can bend and fold into a number of different positions; you can use it at one angle, slightly tilted, for an ideal typing position, and another, nearly vertical, for video viewing and FaceTime. It appears to only support certain positions for the iPad (there's no obvious way to prop it vertically in portrait mode, for instance), though.

The Smart Cover and the iPad 2 were designed together, so there's some unique functionality built in when you use both. If you close the case, the iPad automatically goes to sleep; open it back up and the iPad wakes. The case's underside is also microfiber, so when closed it will actually clean smudges and fingerprints.

The Smart Cover, available on March 11 when the iPad goes on sale, will cost $39 for the polyurethane version and $69 for leather.

Christine ODonnell invited to join Dancing With the Stars

Donnell is considering an invitation to participate in Dancing With the Stars,the Associated Press.

But it’s unclear if the conservative, who lost to Democrat Chris Coons in the November 2010 midterm elections, will become a contestant on the show. The Tea Party member implied in a Facebook status update that writing a book takes priority over Dancing With the Stars.

“I just got the Official ‘Ask’ from Dancing With The Stars !!” O’Donnellon her Facebook page Monday. “Although I am utterly flattered, my initial thought was to decline, as 2 year old nephew has more rhythm than me, and my two left feet!! However Eileen thinks i should do it. What do you think?”

Later, O’Donnell updated her Facebook and Twitter pages and wrote, “The facebook comments about Dancing w The Stars list great pros and cons. Thank you for your input. Still undecided. Book comes first.”

More than 400 people have commented on these two Facebook updates, both of which were published Monday.

Bristol Palin, the daughter of conservative former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin, was a finalist in last season’s Dancing With the Stars.

Oregon congressman tells paper he took painkiller

An Oregon congressman says that he accepted prescription drugs from a campaign contributor last October, around the time when members of his staff complained of his erratic behavior.

Rep. David Wu told The Oregonian that he had left another kind of painkiller — one prescribed by his doctor for neck pain — in Washington. He said the donor offered him an alternative, and he took two tablets.

"This was the only time that this has ever happened," Wu wrote to the newspaper. "I recognize that my action showed poor judgment at the time, and I sincerely regret having put my staff in a difficult position."

Earlier Tuesday, Wu said on ABC's "Good Morning America" that it was "unprofessional and inappropriate" for him to send pictures of himself wearing a tiger costume to staff members.

Wu said the photos were taken while he was "joshing around" with his children in October just before Halloween.

One photo shows Wu wearing an orange and black striped tiger outfit with pointy ears and striped mittens. Portland newspapers reported that campaign staffers pleaded with Wu to seek psychiatric help in the final week before the November election, but he refused.

The Oregonian and Willamette Week on Friday, citing interviews with a number of anonymous staff members, reported that the 55-year-old Wu was increasingly unpredictable on the campaign trial and in private last fall, and had several angry and loud outbursts.

The newspapers reported that campaign staffers were appalled by a series of e-mails sent from Wu's federally issued BlackBerry that included the photo of him in the tiger costume. But more disturbing, staffers said, were e-mails written in the voice of his adolescent children.

In an October speech to a friendly audience at a meeting of Washington County Democrats, Wu lashed out at his opponent and the media. He also talked his way past a security checkpoint to campaign for votes at the airport around that time, according to reports.

Wu on Tuesday acknowledged sending the tiger costume photos and said he has sought mental health treatment, including counseling and medication. He said in the ABC interview that he's "in a good place now," but he said he ruled out inpatient treatment because he couldn't spend time away from his family.

"Last October was not a good month. It was very stressful. I did some things, I said some things, which I sincerely regret now," Wu said.

The seven-term congressman assured voters he is fit to remain in office.

"I emphatically can do the job," Wu said, adding that "only time will demonstrate that to my constituents."

Wu said he was stressed from running for office while taking care of his two children as a single father and caring for his 88-year-old mother. He is separated from his wife, Michelle Wu.

"I think that mental health is a very, very important issue and people ought to feel ready, willing and able to seek it when they need it and perhaps doing this interview with you, George, will help other people feel more comfortable about addressing those issues," Wu told ABC's George Stephanopoulos.

Wu has overcome previous revelations of unusual behavior to survive seven elections. Republicans have long eyed Wu's 1st Congressional District despite a large registration advantage for Democrats, in part because of Wu's propensity to invite embarrassing news.

Wu, a Yale Law School graduate born in Taiwan, was first elected to the U.S. House in 1998. He's maintained a low profile in Congress, except for his occasional appearances in unflattering news stories.

Just weeks before the 2004 election, Wu apologized for "inexcusable behavior" after reports surfaced that a former girlfriend once claimed that he tried to sexually assault her while both were students at Stanford University in the 1970s. No charges were filed in the case, but Wu's opponent seized on the allegation to argue he was unfit for office.

Three years later, Wu's remarks on the House floor that "there are Klingons in the White House" were roundly mocked.

Seven of his staff members have left since he won re-election in November: his chief of staff, spokeswoman, three field representatives in Oregon, and two others in Washington, D.C. In addition, he lost his campaign pollster and campaign fundraiser. His campaign treasurer resigned last week, and Wu named himself treasurer.

Armstrong officially off bike — 'Retirement 2.0'

Lance Armstrong is calling this one "Retirement 2.0."

Almost a month after finishing 65th in his last competitive race in Australia, and nearly six years removed from the last of an unprecedented seven straight Tour de France titles, the 39-year-old cyclist made clear there is no reset button this time.

This time, he's leaving professional racing behind for good.

"Never say never," Armstrong laughed at the start of an exclusive interview Tuesday with The Associated Press, then quickly added, "Just kidding."

His retirement ends a comeback effort that failed to produce an eighth title or diminish talk that performance-enhancing drugs helped his career. The timing has as much to do with his growing responsibilities and family as it does with the physical limitations time has imposed. He's tired, and tired of being hounded. Armstrong will miss competing — let alone dominating a sport like none before him — but not the 24/7/365 training regimen that made it possible.

"I can't say I have any regrets. It's been an excellent ride. I really thought I was going to win another tour," Armstrong said about his comeback attempt in 2009, four years after his first retirement. "Then I lined up like everybody else and wound up third.

"I have no regrets about last year, either," he added, despite finishing 23rd. "The crashes, the problems with the bike — those were things that were beyond my control."

Armstrong spoke to the AP in a telephone interview and in a videotaped interview from his office in Austin, Texas.

Armstrong zoomed out of relative obscurity after a life-threatening bout with testicular cancer to win his first tour in 1999, then set about recalibrating both the popularity of his sport and how much influence athletes can wield as advocates for a cause — in his case, on behalf of cancer survivors and researchers worldwide.

International Cycling Union President Pat McQuaid had high praise for Armstrong.

"His contribution to cycling has been enormous, from both the sporting point of view and his personality. All sports need global icons and he has become a global icon for cycling," said McQuaid, speaking to The Associated Press by telephone from the Tour of Oman. "The sport of cycling has a lot to be thankful for because of Lance Armstrong."

Along the way, Armstrong also became one of the most controversial figures in the evolving battle against doping in sports. He claims to be the most-tested athlete on the planet during his career. Armstrong came back clean every time, and vehemently denies ever using performance-enhancing drugs.

Even so, he remains shadowed by a federal investigation into the sport launched last year following accusations by former teammate and disgraced 2006 tour champion Floyd Landis that Armstrong used drugs and taught other riders how to beat testing. Though the probe is continuing, lawyers familiar with the case told the AP recently that any possible indictments are a long way off.

"I can't control what goes on in regards to the investigation. That's why I hire people to help me with that. I try not to let it bother me and just keep rolling right along. I know what I know," Armstrong said. "I know what I do and I know what I did. That's not going to change."

What won't change, either, is his tenacious campaigning to raise funds and awareness in the fight against a disease his doctors once believed would keep Armstrong from competing at anything more strenuous than gin rummy.

That was 1996. A year later, he set up the Livestrong Foundation and raised $10,000. In the intervening years, Armstrong used his story, his celebrity and hard work to sell millions of those ubiquitous plastic yellow wrist bracelets and enlist lawmakers in Texas and global policymakers on the scale of Bill Clinton in the cause.

By the end of last year, despite tough economic times, the foundation had raised nearly $400 million total. But the real heavy lifting may just be beginning.

After lobbying successfully for a Texas state constitutional amendment to provide $3 billion for cancer research over a 10-year period, Armstrong now has his sights set on California. This summer, he'll work with legislators there to draw up and put on the ballot a measure mandating a cigarette tax with the proceeds to fund further research. Come September, Armstrong will also plead his case before a United Nations General Assembly special session on non-communicable diseases that he provided much of the impetus for.

"We knew we'd be able to have some impact, but we didn't know we'd pick up so much momentum," he said.

That's how Armstrong broke through nearly every barrier the sport had erected over a century and more — by leading with his chin. He spilled blood on the roads, came back from crashes and more than once, crossed the finish line of a stage race draped over his handlebars like a man hanging on for life instead of an unbreakable machine.

One thing that never changed, though, was how Armstrong's withering gaze controlled the pack of riders around him. He doled out favors, like stage wins, or withheld them as the mood struck him. He could command the peloton to speed up to chase a breakaway rider or slow down with an ease the old-time cycling bosses — respectfully called patrons — would have envied.

That was just one reason Armstrong leaves the sport with nearly as many enemies as friends.

"A lot of that has been overanalyzed and inaccurately portrayed, but it's part and parcel of cycling. It's how cycling operates," Armstrong said. "There's too much infighting, jealousy and bitterness within the sport, so everybody tries to pick apart a person or a spectacular performance.

"And some of it," he added, "we bring on ourselves."

Cycling made Armstrong wealthy several times over, and many of the sponsors he brought into the sport continue to use him as a pitchman. A second career in politics someday does not seem out of the question.

"I don't think so. I get asked that question a lot. It's a job. It's probably many times a thankless job. ... If I were to run for any kind of office, it's impossible or very difficult to run right down the middle," he said.

"I would have to immediately alienate half of our constituents: 'Wait a minute, we thought this guy was a Republican. Wait a minute, we thought he was a Democrat.' I think the effect there would be a negative effect for the foundation. For now, absolutely not on my radar."

Armstrong will be at this year's tour, bringing the oldest of his five kids, 11-year-old Luke, back to the race this summer. He may even climb into a team car to do reconnaissance work for some of the Radio Shack riders he used to race alongside.

One thing Armstrong vowed not to do was spend much time reliving his accomplishments on the bike.

"In 10 years time," he said, "if I'm sitting around saying, 'I was so strong on L'Alpe d'Huez in 2001,' then I got a problem."

Nikkei at 9-month high on soft yen

SYDNEY/TOKYO (Reuters) – Sterling rose in Asia on Wednesday as accelerating UK inflation fueled talk of an early interest rate rise, while a weaker yen helped to send Japanese stocks to the highest level since last May.

Sterling rallied to a 5- month peak against a currency basket after data on Tuesday showed inflation in Britain jumped to 4 percent, twice the Bank of England's target, prompting Governor Mervyn King to acknowledge that rates might rise more rapidly than economists had expected.

Analysts now expect a rate rise in May and the next market focus is the BoE's inflation report due at 1030 GMT.

Sterling last traded at around $1.6165, nearing a high of $1.6170 overnight. The pound has gained some 3 percent against the U.S. dollar so far this year.

Against the yen, the dollar last traded at around 83.75, not far from an eight-week high of around 83.90 yen hit the previous day, helped by the recent rise in U.S. Treasury yields.

Japan's benchmark Nikkei average (.N225) extended gains, rising 0.4 percent, and broke above 10,800 points for the first time since May as a softer yen lifted exporters and countered declines on Wall Street.

Tokyo Electron (8035.T) and Advantest (6857.T) were among the exporters whose shares gained. Both stocks were up by around 1.7 percent. A weaker yen makes Japanese exports cheaper and boosts company profits. (.T)

"It's a weaker yen that's lifting sentiment, but foreign investors are also picking up domestic-demand stocks," said Shinichiro Matsushita, a market analyst at Daiwa Securities, adding that financials were attracting foreign interest due to the Nikkei's strong performance.

High trade volumes also lifted the mood. The Tokyo stock exchange's first section has seen more than 2.0 billion shares change hands for seven consecutive sessions.

ASIAN STOCKS STEADY

Some traders said Japanese retail investors were behind the yen's recent mild drop. The dollar could rise further as it is seen supported with bids at levels near 84.40 yen and 84.20 yen, they said.

"Bids are starting to emerge on the downside and I wouldn't be surprised if the dollar were to make another try for the upside," said a trade for a Japanese brokage in Tokyo.

The euro edged up against the dollar, standing at around $1.3530 as of 0253 GMT.

Elsewhere in Asia, MSCI's Asia Pacific share index excluding Japan (.MIAPJ0000PUS) edged up 0.1 percent.

Hong Kong stocks rose 0.7 percent, while the Korea Composite Stock Price Index (KOSPI) (.KS11) advanced 0.3 percent.

In Australia, BHP Billiton (BHP.AX), the world's biggest miner, said it planned to pour $80 billion into expansions over the next five years and return cash to investors rather than chase ambitious takeovers, after nearly doubling its first-half profit to a record.

After having rallied 9 percent to a 33-month high in recent weeks, shares of the market leader BHP fell 1.7 percent after posting results. But Australia's benchmark S&P/ASX 200 index (.AXJO) was little changed as banking shares weighed on the broader market.

U.S. crude futures recovered slightly in early Asian trade after the American Petroleum Institute (API) said U.S. crude stocks fell unexpectedly last week as imports fell. NYMEX crude for March delivery was up 0.38 percent, at $84.70 a barrel.

London Brent crude futures saw similar gains, topping $102.

H&R Block agrees to improve access for deaf

WASHINGTON – The nation's largest tax preparation company, H&R Block, agreed Monday to improve its services for deaf and hard of hearing people.

The Justice Department announced that H&R Block had agreed to a nationwide settlement to resolve a complaint filed by a deaf person in San Antonio, Texas, under the Americans with Disabilities Act.

"The agreement will ensure that individuals who are deaf or hard of hearing have equal access to tax preparation services at more than 11,000 offices nationwide," said Thomas E. Perez, assistant attorney general in charge of the Justice Department's Civil Rights Division.

In a written statement, H&R Block spokesman Gene King said, "We are happy to put this behind us and concentrate on serving all clients during our 56th tax season."

The company agreed to provide auxiliary aids and services such as sign language interpreters, to train its employees and to enforce policies for communicating with deaf and hard of hearing customers. It will post notices advising customers of their right to request a sign language interpreter or other aid.

The company agreed to pay a $20,000 civil fine and pay the person who filed the complaint $5,000 in damages.

H&R Block, headquartered in Kansas City, has more than 11,000 owned or franchised offices in the U.S.

$46M spent on failed Calif. global warming measure

SACRAMENTO, Calif. – More than $46 million was spent for and against a failed November ballot measure that would have suspended California's landmark global warming law, according to campaign finance reports filed Monday.

Out-of-state oil companies and their supporters spent $10.5 million promoting Proposition 23, while opponents spent more than $36 million.

The initiative would have suspended the state's 2006 greenhouse gas reduction goals until California's unemployment rate, now 12.5 percent, drops to 5.5 percent and holds there for a year. That has occurred just three times in three decades.

Voters defeated Proposition 23 by a margin of 61.6 percent to 38.4 percent.

The initiative seeking to undo California's global warming law was one of nine propositions on the November ballot, which also included a failed initiative seeking to legalize recreational use of marijuana. Supporters and opponents for all propositions faced a Monday deadline to file their final fundraising and spending reports.

Opponents of the global warming initiative were able to entice support from big business, venture capitalists, environmental groups and Hollywood notables such as movie director James Cameron by turning the petroleum industry into a villain, said Bill Day, spokesman for Valero Corp. The Texas-based company contributed more than $5 million to the campaign.

The oil companies and their supporters argued that the law will drive businesses out of state and should be delayed until the economy improves.

Steve Maviglio, a spokesman for the groups who fought Proposition 23, said the petroleum companies were overwhelmed by state and national groups that see green energy and jobs as the next wave in the California economy.

"California's business community rallied to save the fastest-growing business sector in the state," Maviglio said. "It also became a flashpoint nationally for the future of clean energy."

Schwarzenegger championed the 2006 Global Warming Solutions Act as a hallmark of his administration. It made California the first state to approve greenhouse gas regulations, limiting industrial emissions beginning in 2012 and adding fossil fuel energy reductions in 2020.

In addition to rejecting the marijuana legalization, voters in November refused to enact a vehicle fee to fund state parks and repeal business tax breaks. They lowered the margin needed to approve state budgets in the Legislature from a two-thirds vote to a simple majority and gave an independent panel the authority to draw congressional districts.

The marijuana measure failed by a margin of 53.5 percent to 46.5 percent, even though proponents far outspent the opposition. It would have let adults ages 21 and older possess and grow small amounts of marijuana.

Supporters spent more than $3.2 million, including a $1 million contribution by billionaire financier George Soros a week before the vote.

By then it was too late to overcome opposition from law enforcement organizations and other opponents that spent about $423,000, said Stephen Gutwillig, California state director for the Drug Policy Alliance, which supported the measure. U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder helped defeat the measure, Gutwillig said, when he promised to vigorously enforce federal laws against marijuana possession and distribution even if the measure passed.

"It was pretty clear in the last weeks of the campaign that we were not going to have enough money to overcome those obstacles . of the smaller, older, more conservative electorate that could be counted on to vote in an off-year election," Gutwillig said.

Business and organized labor spent nearly equal amounts — in excess of $15 million each — battling over an initiative that would have repealed three corporate tax breaks.

Proposition 24 was championed by the California Teachers Association to roll back tax measures approved by the Legislature in late 2008 and early 2009. The breaks are projected to save businesses about $1.3 billion annually.

The state's largest teachers union poured $8.9 million into the campaign. The union's money was countered by corporations including Cisco Systems Inc., Genentech Inc., General Electric Co., Qualcomm Inc., The Walt Disney Co. and Time Warner.

The teachers union and other supporters said money from the tax breaks would be better spent by schools, health care and public safety. Business organizations said reinstating the old tax formulas would discourage employers from expanding.

Voters sided with the business groups, rejecting the repeal by a margin of 58 percent to 42 percent.

Congressional and state legislators and their allies faced off against Charles Munger Jr., a Palo Alto physicist, in fundraising over two measures affecting how California draws political district boundaries.

Voters rejected a measure that would have abolished a commission charged with redrawing the state's legislative districts. They approved a second measure that lets the commission redraw congressional district lines as well.

Munger contributed more than $12 million of the nearly $24 million raised to support the commission and remove legislators' map-drawing powers. He gave about double the $6 million raised by those who want the Legislature to draw district lines.

Si comme moi, tu commences sérieusement à rechigner à sortir, et que tu préfères repenser à ses bons et lointains moments passés en terrasse cet été, le tout en avalant goulûment de la soupe maison (moi c'est potiron/coriandre d'après une recette de ma maman!), "glamouresement" lové(e) dans ton canapé, sous la couette, il est temps que je partage avec toi mes programmes TV préféré.

D'abord, il y a déjà ma "messe dominicale" (j'avais un ex qui disait ça pour le combo Auto moto/téléfoot/turbo qu'il m'infligeais le dimanche matin :S). Pour moi, c'est, sur paris première, Intérieur + La mode la mode la mode, émission de (belles) filles : de la déco et de la mode, du hype et de l'humour. Et Alexandra, qui présente a toujours de belles chaussures (et de beaux cheveux). La semaine dernière, j'avais perdu la télécommande, et j'ai failli les louper, j'ai cru mourir.

Ensuite, il y a "Qui veut épouser mon fils" où des mères essayent de refourguer leurs fistons. Affligent. Trop marrant. Livetwitté. Il y a du lourd, je crois meme qu'on y reviendra plus en détail, tellement il y a du lourd.

Enfin, Last but not least j'ai envie de dire, "La france a un incroyable talent" ou la version Française de America's got talent (ou Britain's got talent, tu as compris le principe). Grâce à Osmany, le seul et l'unique, j'ai pu voir en exclusivité un peu du 1er episode (je dis un peu, ils nous l'ont coupé au bout de 40 min, juste avant de voir si le douchebag qui fait des salto sur place allait se manger par terre ou retomber sur ses pieds. On imagine bien que oui, il va retomber sur ses pieds, et qu'il ne va pas subir l'inertie du poids de son cerveau et choir, vu son interview préalable de teûbé. En tout cas, j'ai vu Dave, qui est dans le jury cette année, et il nous a bien fait rigolé parce qu'il portait des UGG et n'était pas du tout langue de bois. Rien que pour ça, j'attend avec impatience les directs de l'emission. C'est sur M6, le mercredi, en prime time. (plus d'info ici)

Je tiens à écrire une nouvelle présentation concernant ce blog pour les nouvelles personnes qui me suivent, qui s'intéressent un peu à ma vie, à ma musique et à mes web-projects.

Pour ceux qui savaient déjà, ce blog ne traite pas que de ma vie personnelle mais mêmement de mon vieux projet "xLivetChat" qui était un site de rencontre et de discussion créé à la base pour gagner un peu de fric. Le site étant laissé à l'abandon (Pour cause de flemme de m'en occuper et aussi parce que je décroche beaucoup de ma cyber-vie..), il me rapporte donc beaucoup moins de visites et par conséquent moins d'argent par rapport à avant, ce qui m'oblige à lancer un nouveau projet (Un peu plus inovant, parce que là ça frise le plagiat depuis des années ..). Ce nouveau projet, que vous découvrirez probablement dans quelques mois si je n'ai pas le flemme de taffer dessus, sera redirigé par le nom de domaine de xLivetChat sous forme d'"association des deux projets". Ce nouveau projet sera un peu plus souvent mis à jour et donc ce blog aura de plus en plus d'articles concernant son programme d'origine.

Pour les nouveaux arrivants, je suis un jeune musicien âgé actuellement d'une vingtaine d'années, génération '90. Je suis passioné par la musique (évidemment), l'astronomie, la nature, la culture - Folklore et compagnie -, la "old" high-tech, l'art en général (Y compris ce qui est théâtre, expositions de peintures, et cætera... Mais pas la danse, faut pas pousser !).

J'ai eu une longue période de passion pour l'informatique et, entre autres, la programmation et les jeux de mon époque. J'ai commencé par apprendre la base des bases, le HTML vers l'âge de six ans puis ce qui va avec : XML/CSS et la PHP/MySQL. Je n'me suis jamais vraiment poussé à fond dedans, je n'apprenais que les bases et je faisais avec, ça m'allait très bien.

Actuellement, je suis sur plusieurs projets musicaux en préparation. Ça risque de foutre une belle claque dans la gueule de certaines gens et / ou éveiller des moqueries de la part d'autres. Comme partout, il y a des hauts et des bas, ça passe ou ça casse. Je touche un peu à tous les styles, du Rap à la Country, du Rock au Thrash Metal et je joue beaucoup avec l'électronique.

À travers ce blog, j'aime beaucoup exposer mes points de vue ou encore mes coups de cœur. Ou bien simplement mes vidéos, musicales ou non.. J'y affiche aussi très peu l'avancement de mes web-projects, cependant j'en parle régulièrement sur Twitter. Ces temps-ci, je donne beaucoup d'actualité concernant mon site sur South Park : http://www.NewSouthPark.net - Qui est une série avec laquelle j'ai pu beaucoup me fendre la gueule en grandissant.

J'adore écrire (Néanmoins, j'abhorre lire. Lire des livres.) et c'est pourquoi je compose énormément de chansons. Je prends parfois énormément de temps pour boucler une musique parce que je suis presque perfectionniste. Il faut qu'elle sonne comme elle sonnait dans mes pensées lorsque je l'ai imaginée. J'ai souvent songé à chercher un boulot dans l'écriture. Par exemple, devenir rédacteur, chroniqueur, parolier ou journaliste. Je ne passerai pas ma vie comme écrivain, je préfère de loin mon statut de musicien, cependant j'estime que ça ne me ferait pas de mal d'écrire parallèlement.

Après avoir lu ça, vous avez le choix entre continuer à me suivre ou bien me rejeter, si le concept de mon blog ne vous plait plus, ou si vous n'appréciez pas ma personne. Sachez que j'aurai tout de même plaisir à débattre avec vous à propos de certains points, si vous les trouvez un peu ambigües.

Oui le doute est ton meilleur ennemi, il ne faut jamais l'oublié !

Une vraie gangraine, surement la pire chose qui puisse arriver lors d'une saison de compétition.

Voilà peut-être pourquoi je n'ai pas daigné alimenter ce blog pendant un mois et demi, je n'en avais pas vraiment le goût. Il faut maintenant exorciser pour repartir sur de bonnes bases !

Tout d'abord, je pense qu'il y a des lacunes dans mon entraînement. Il suffit de comparer ce milieu de saison au début de saison.

- Le début de saison à été très riche en entraînements mis en place par le pôle et en particulier par Charles qui m'ont apporter un bagage et une confiance dont je manque cruellement en ce moment. Il suffit de voir les résultats: un début de saison avec des résultats inespérés pour moi, tout jeune en A. Et en plus des entraînements de qualité où j'étais à chaque manche au but et bien placé.

- un milieu de saison bien morne (et la météo et vraiment horrible en plus...) avec peu de résultats positifs, tout cela en corrélation avec des entraînements peu construits, peu de volume de vol, peu de manches bouclées... Ce n'est pas un hasard. S'ensuit un cercle vicieux où après chaque vol vous ne voyez que les mauvais points, les bons semblant obscurcis par la déception d'avoir une nouvelle fois "mal volé". Ah la psycho, dur dur...

J'ai pourtant senti des choses de nouveau positives ces derniers temps. Une manche B à Allevard où en gros j'ai retrouvé un niveau correct (mais la manche était facile). Et la manche 1 de l'open du Lac où je pose après 82 kms (sur 104) avec un horrible sentiment d'inachevé (avec des belles idées bien noires à la clé), ayant fait tout le vol dans les 15, sans réelle erreur.

Je reste tout de même à ma 20ème position au classement A après validation de l'Open du Lac, un miracle ? (45 au FPRS)

Alors il n'y a plus qu'à se ré-entraîner sérieusement pour reprendre confiance, se retrouver, en faisant de bonnes prestations en entraînement pour arriver au top lors des compètes !

Prochaines échéances: La A du Cantal et le Belgian Open à Laragne (ça ça va être bon !!)

Na passada sexta-feira dia 26 de Fevereiro aceitamos o convite do Manuel Moreira do restaurante a Ponte, para jantar e confraternizar com os (compadres) da academia do bacalhau de Paris, como podem imaginar nestes jantares o prato principal e o bacalhau, desta vez foi com batatas a murro bem regadinhas com azeite caseiro que o patrão compra directamente ao produtor em Portugal.

Para quem teve a sorte de estar presente pode provar os bons petiscos que o mestre Moreira tinha preparado para a entrada, não posso descrever tudo mas havia : moelas de galinha pato e peru (lol) punheta de bacalhau executado pelo mesmo, presunto cortado no momento, bolinhos de carne, bacalhau e tantas outras coisas boas.

Depois foi dado o pontapé de saída para o jantar com um sino em cobre (lol) para quem nunca assistiu a este tipo de encontro e era o meu caso confesso que os rituais praticado pelos (compadres) são bastantes engraçados, no fim do jantar gravados uma pequena conversa com David Monteiro que e o presidente desta associação tambem deve ser o mais jovem dos compadres.

Para animar o jantar o mestre do restaurante arranjou cinco artistas, bastante conhecidos no movimenta associativo na região de Paris, como sendo dos melhores cantadores amadores da região de Paris, foi um momento bastante alegre onde todos se juntaram em coro para cantar as nossas belas canções populares.
